Sleep Inn Mt. Pleasant Charleston

This was a great hotel.The front desk workers were so pleasant ,the breakfast servers was just as accommodating.Whenever me and my gf come to Charleston,we will stay at the sleep inn....The room was spotless,the bathroom was awesome,I wish I had the walk in shower at home.

Did not have TV service during the two nights we stayed at this hotel. Talked to the desk assistant and was told that the manager was checking into possible credit to our account. Upon departing we were told the manager would not be giving us a credit. We were given his number and told that he would be happy to talk to us in this regard. We went on with our vacation to MB SC and called 3 times leaving a message. Did not receive any return calls. We have been to this area numerous times and would not recommend staying here specifically for the way we were treated by the manager as guests in his hotel showing us the lack of courtesy to us as well as to his staff. If he chose not to give us credit he should have told us personally or returned our calls, not leave it to his staff. BAD manager skills to be sure.

The hotel is in disarray, with holes in the shower and tarnished walls, lacking even a fitness center. It's been acquired by the PATELS and has lost its corporate identity. The owner, who resides on the premises, has not been truthful. On the upside, the hotel is pet-friendly, though a pet fee plus tax is charged, reflecting its private ownership. The room rates should be around $59-69 per night, but be aware that the bathrooms are extremely small. I assure you this hotel is in the early stages of losing the Sleep Inn name, I'm not sure how Choice Brand allow this to go on.

First the pros: conveniently located, nice area, incredibly comfortable bed, clean. The cons: noisy. I guess maybe because they changed the flooring to vinyl or because it’s not well insulated between floors, but we heard people stomping around above us half the night. Also the doors slam so they were slamming with people going to breakfast all morning. The bathroom was TINY. The sink was outside the bathroom (which I hate because it’s hard to get ready if someone else is still sleeping) so it was just a toilet and shower in the bathroom. The toilet was so shoved in there that when you were seated, your arm was pushed against the toilet paper rolls. Lastly breakfast- it SHOULD have been good. Eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels, cereal, yogurt, etc. BUT- there were two sausage links when my husband and I arrived, 45 minutes before breakfast ended. We shared. It was never refilled. The orange juice was almost empty and had a red light that said refill, but was never refilled. The waffle mix was almost empty (and one waffle maker didn’t appear to be working), and another guest told the attendant, she said ok and never refilled it. The only thing she refilled the entire time we were down there was the milk, and coffee when someone complained. The rest of the time she just stood around. 45 minutes left. Anyone who came down after us was very limited in what they could eat.

Stayed for three nights in early August. We needed a pet-friendly room and this price point was within budget. There is a $30 / night surcharge - plus tax - for pets. The room was not as clean as it should have been, although the beds are comfortable. When we came in there was an odor that was not foul, but not pleasant. Very basic breakfast, but it was fine. There is a small outdoor pool. The shower hardware needed some repairs / updating. They do not provide housekeeping on a daily basis unless you request it. I asked for new towels after two nights and they were happy to oblige.
