Visiting Charleston? Worth the drive over the bridge to stay here . Clean, newly remodeled, front desk staff extremely helpful with needed extra assistance with checking in and special needs. Walkable to several restaurants and shops. Front desk service was better than most high end, more expensive hotels. We enjoyed our stay and will return

Was set to stay at this location for work for a week. Mind you I work out of the hotel most the day. Checked in mid evening. 4 people in line all with problems. **signs up remodeling starting in Oct 2024*** Used my mobile checking and went to my chosen room third floor. Found that the entire workspace was missing from the room. Didn’t unpack went back down to stairs to the front desk another 4 were now in line with issues. Waited again. Said something to the front desk and he was very hospitable and called maintenance and asked them to pull the desk from another room. Was hoping for a better room as was tired due to traveling. Maitenance brings up a desk that looked like it was brought into the hotel when it opened 20 years ago. Room continued to get worse. Stains on the couch, the chairs, the deadbolt on the door, lamp shades broke, did not even lock (found that out much later) plugs in the walls didn’t work. The ceiling fan sounded like it was going to explode when you turned the dial just to spin. There was a broke end of the bed frame that was wrapped in white tape like a prison shiv as it appeared to be an issue before. I stayed the night and moved to a much better place by the water No way that the money you pay to stay at this place will be worth it u til after the renovation are done.

I booked a room on 8/23 for a 8/31-9/2 stay at Homewood Suites Mt Pleasant in Charleston SC. Upon arriving I was informed that my reservation had been cancelled by the hotel. My husband and I drove 2 hours to get to the hotel and received no notification from the hotel that they had cancelled our reservation. The clerk at the front desk was no help and when I asked to speak to a manager she said there was no manager onsite. I immediately called Hilton Honots and was advised that my reservation was active as well as my check in. After they called the hotel to find out what happened they informed me that the hotel overbooked guests and they had no room for us. This made no sense to me since we were confirmed a week ahead of time and I was able to check in and received a room number. We had dinner reservation and were celebrating our anniversary and my birthday so this completely disrupted our entire weekend plans. We were left to try to secure new accommodations and try to salvage the rest of our weekend. I understand that things like this happen in this industry however it’s the unprofessional behavior and lack of consideration that was so appalling. I believe greed resulting in the hotel cancelling our reservation and rebooking a new guest at a higher rate. Disgusting! Do better HILTON!!

This really was a great place to stay! It was clean, people were friendly. We stayed 2 nights to do a quick tour of Charleston & visit some friends. Very centrally located to downtown Charleston. You will need a car to get around though. Free breakfast too!

Called the hotel a few weeks before our stay for information and landed speaking with Tabatha. She is a delight on the phone. We are typically Marriott members, but were interested with how close this location was to the beach. We did not realize until we arrived that Tabatha was actually management answering our questions. She was so helpful in knowing the area and giving advice on what to do. So helpful and made our stay great. We got to see her through out the stay and some other staff, we arrived just before and stayed over the storm known as Debbie. Alot of guest were fussy but everytime Tabatha and a girl who I cannot remember her name always handled it with grace and poise without getting upset. The hotel is a little on the rough edges but we were told they are doing a full renovation. Between all the feedback and attention we shared with Tabatha this has become our new destination spot and we can't wait to come back after renovations. A housekeeper named Bobby was constantly ready to help if we needed extra towels or supplies brought to our room. Breakfast seemed to have more than what our normal Marriott fare included. We would like to see some more gluten free options but when you travel with certain conditions you know to pack for those occasions. This property is close to the beach and food. Has a Harris teeter and a target in walking distance. Property owned parking lot. Kind of hard to get parking late at night.
