I gave this place the benefit of doubt, reading reviews with an open mind, we were desperate for a place to stay. I was hesitant to read about bed bugs, so we decided to proceed with a thorough check of the room. It was disgusting! Big red stain on the carpet (after they supposedly just deep cleaned), smell of musky mildew, everything was damaged, old, and stained. The manager at the desk seemed friendly and helpful until we came back from running out for coffee to learn our personal items have been packed and brought to the office. Staff went in our room as soon as we left to snoop through our things and steal! A couple personal belongings are missing and we never got our food back from the fridge. She went on with an elaborate story of how they found drugs in our room and were kicking us out! Supposedly the police were called, however we were never contacted and these supposed “drugs” she claims to have flushed down the toilet. I would assume if there was any kind of report, police would take anything found as evidence? Wouldn’t be surprised if drugs were found there but they were not brought in by us! Could have been left by the last person who stayed, considering our neighbors were tweakers who paced the walkway peering in our windows while we were there. They also charged my credit card extra after we got kicked out and we were put on some supposed black list. This was a very unsettling and violating experience for us. It’s as if they are trying to take advantage of travels and steal from them.. The manager also is quick to defend any negative reviews given online to make the victims look like the problem. Save yourself the headache, money, and bedbugs! I should have listened to her when we were checking in and she referred to Heartsville as “Murderville”.

We used to stay here every year for a golf trip here. It was very nice after the renovations in 2017/2018 but has gone downhill recently. The last time I was there in 2022, there were some shady characters and drugs in some rooms. I was asked if I wanted to buy some. The place is still fairly clean, but I do not need that kind of aggravation. We used to love staying here because we really liked the local feel of Hartsville and its restaurant's, but no more. If you want a really cheap place to stay that is fairly decent and you can get over the rust on the steps and doorframes, then this is the place for you! Breakfast is ok. They have hot sausage (take or leave), eggs (dont do it) and grits (best part). You can make a waffle as well. Juices and yogurt as well. The staff is always great and willing to answer questions.

Older hotel but very clean. Well managed. Staff was awesome. Big shout out to Crystal who works the 2 to 10 shift. Went way above and beyond for us. Great spot for the races as we could go back way to the track

We were put in the last building. Room 167. I thought it was because we brought our dachshund with us. I was looking forward to the memory foam bed but these beds didn’t have any memory foam. They were ok though. The shower had no water pressure so the manager had to come fix it. When I walked my dog I found a dirty needle at the base of the tree he liked to pee on. He could’ve stepped on it and really hurt himself. I notified the maintenance manager and he did NOTHING. It’s still there a full 30 hrs later. I went to get a poop bag from the dispenser in the yard and me and my dog were attacked by a swarm of fire ants. See pics below. I would NOT stay here again. I do Not feel safe and I’m scared my dog is going to get hurt.

The room we stayed in was just up dated. It was very nice and clean. All of the people were so friendly, especially Lynn. The breakfast had more choices than what we expected. We will definitely be back!
