Baymont by Wyndham Cheraw

We booked a non smoking room due to allergies. When we got to our room it was occupied by someone else. The staff was not aware of anyone being in there. They had to recode the key so whoever it was couldn't get back in. They even called the cleaning lady to confirm it had been cleaned, just incase it had just got missed.. they had cleaned it. Then they moved us to a room that smelled like smoke and mold, which didnt work due to our allergies. They moved us to another room, apparently one they never use located by the staff member who lives on site... it smelled like they sprayed it with air freshener to mask the mildew/mold smell, it was nasty. They agreed to give us our money back and we ended up having to drive about 45 minutes away to find another room at almost 11pm. The clerk took a photo on my phone of there computer screen showing they were refunding us, since they said they couldn't print anything out. We checked our statement a few days later and they did charge us. So then we had to put a claim in with our credit card company and Wyndham hotels to get it refunded. I wouldn't stay here or recommend this motel to anyone. The only nice thing I can say about this hotel is the young man and woman working that night we're very nice and tried to help us. Don't waste ypur time booking this place

Stayed here based on reviews. Checked in at 11pm, had to use the jail window. Lady was a bit odd. At the end she tells me the hotel is sold out and to be quiet when I am traveling to my room, yet when I was "traveling to my room" I see 2 guys outside sitting in chairs having a beer and 3 very empty rooms in front of me. Why tell me that? Room itself was a nice size. Bed & pillows were the best part. The bathroom is small, very small. You barely have enough room between the door and the shower. The top hinges of my door were falling off. Shower curtain was tattered. WiFi was unusable. I did mention the door hinges at checkout and maintenance was all over it. Property seems a bit rough around the edges, as is Cheraw.

Great hotel staff, very helpful and friendly. Bed was very nice. Nights were quiet and peaceful. Stayed 3 nights and had no problems or complaints. Great place to stay. Convenient to downtown and eateries. In town for the 2025 Sandblast Rally. First time I'd attended it since about 2005. Loved it, loved the town, loved the hotel stay.

We stopped here on our way south to Florida. The room was very clean and the customer service at the front desk was excellent. The only complaint we have is the room was in need of cosmetic repairs. There was damage to the walls and the doors in our room and it was clearly not fixed correctly. A little in room maintenance would have made all the difference.
