Don't use the Best Western, Savanna highway , Charleston SC theres nothing 'Best' about it ! , We asked for a different room, but were told they were fully booked, and would not get a refund, the room was very tired and smelly, the carpet and bathroom really not good, we would leave tonight but are struggling to find anywhere else to stay as its Easter , it's horrid here

When we arrived, we learned that this property is a motel, not a hotel. Rooms are on two floors, and there's no elevator, which means hauling luggage up the exterior stairs if your room is on the second floor. Since we were checking in late, all the first floor rooms had already been assigned. I always do extensive research before booking a property, and had thoroughly reviewed their website. There's no mention that they don't have an elevator, and the website calls the property a "hotel," not a "motel." The property is very old, though it has been extensively renovated. The room was pretty clean and one of the quietest rooms I've ever stayed in. Unfortunately, the majority of the electrical outlets in the room didn't work and the hot water in the second bathroom sink could only be turned on and off by using the hot water valve under the sink. It was ok for our one-night stay but I won't be returning or recommending the property.

The photo is beautiful as is the outside property but the hotel is dated. Lobby is nice but not large. The check in was a time wasting hassle as the housekeeping had cleaned most of the many available rooms when I went to check, with doors open and all done, but NONE were reported clean to the lobby, so the n ice lobby lady was completely in the dark. The warm Breakfast was the usual BW watery fake egg mix plus sausage patties, no potatoes or interesting sides. Dining room was nice. The room was very basic but space was good and furniture was fairly new. Location close to many food places, airport and historic Charleston, a bit far from beaches like 1/2 hour + and some traffic. I was charged for the deposit amount in error though I didn't owe anything, so careful about the bookkeeping. The hotel could be really decent but missed opportunities.

Not a hotel I would recommend unless you are a one and done. TV remote issues, shower issues and lack of response from the staff is not the way to satisfy a customer. Rooms need updating and general maintenance is not their forte. It's ok if you want to rest your head for the night but I would choose another hotel over this one.

1st visit to Charleston, SC for a 3-day Valentine's Day weekend and happy to report my stay at this hotel was great! The room was clean & they came to clean it every day, plenty of toiletries (they'll give you more at the front desk if you ask), was mostly quiet, about a 15-minute drive to the heart of Charleston's French Quarter & Battery area & the breakfast was a money saver when vacationing on a budget. Speaking of breakfast, breakfast either consisted of Scrambled Eggs or Egg & Cheese omelets & some kind of meat, such as Turkey or Pork sausages plus plenty of breads, cereals, fruits & do-it-yourself waffles or Pancakes. Much better then most hotel breakfasts! My lone complaint is I had some older neighbors placed next door the last night of my stay that decided to place 2 chairs right between our doors & talk very LOUDLY til 1am. Maybe not the hotels fault, but they should make some kind of rules as I saw a few folks do the same around the hotel that same night. A little strange.
