Quality Inn & Suites Conference Center

To be fair, I used points so wound up in a dark room at the back of the property facing the parking lot. No big inconvenience, but the phone didn't work so had to use my cell to call the front desk. It met my key criteria: Clean linens, working microwave & mini-fridge. The room was dark & gloomy and people were hanging out on the stairwell playing loud music (not late, fortunately). Be aware this property does not have a complimentary breakfast but does have a restaurant on premises.

On business trips, I have previously stayed at over 100 hotels. My recent stay was among the worst, akin to a German Hostel The place has a terrible door security system, as their keys near daily fail. To get a replacement key, one merely goes to front desk and asks for new key. Neither I nor wife were asked for ANY identification - I could have asked for access to YOUR room Pet friendy, ergo expect to have your stay interrupted by barking dogs Being immediately next to Hwy 19 ensures that your will frequently woken up, as siren vehicles pass by The narrow hall ways frequently had a clod of cigarette smokers to pass through Poorly trained room cleaning staff who rarely clean room

Maybe the WORST hotel stay experience I have ever had. I was using FEMA rates (hurricane evacuee) and responded to their Hotel net ad that t.Specifically stated that he room rate included a Free Hot breakfast. The hotel did not comply with their net ad They allow pets and thus I had to endure barking dogs Expect to encounter cigarette smokers, on the narrow walkways The hotel is located near a busy rd, Hwy 19. At all hours there were frequent emergency sirens, to wake you up Does not offer maid service on hoildays Rooms most dated and poorly cleaned Would not recommend one to stay there

On a good note, this is the first hotel that has ever had non gritty floors without carpet. I hate hard floors because they are always dirty and gritty, but this one wasn't. It appeared clean, but when brushing my teeth, it was really gross because the sink smelled just like dirty dog. Then I needed a tissue and it too smelled just like dirty dog. Also, if you don't like dogs, this is not the place for you. While I was bringing my suitcase to my room, a little dog ran up to me. An owner followed and took it off but then I looked up and saw there were a couple more dogs inside the pool area just running around. No leashes. The room served it's purpose. The shower had good water pressure.

The pictures of this hotel online are not what I saw. The hotel may have looked like this at one time, but that was not my experience. I found the property to be less than clean and run down. The room available to me was not clean, not all of the electrical outlets worked, and the furniture was too worn to be usable. In speaking with other guests, their experience was similar. Choice Hotels are generally nice establishments, so this property saddened me. I will continue to book at Choice Hotels because of their good reputation.
