Homewood Suites by Hilton Reading

Maybe the best hotel experience I've had in years! Location is excellent, many services and shopping close by, some within easy walking distance. The 2 room suite was perfectly clean, the HVAC worked well and the bath/shower was extremely well designed. Bed and couch very comfortable. The breakfast has standard and some unique offerings, like a taco bar with many filling options. But by far the best aspect of the stay was the staff, especially the General Manager, Ryan Harouz. Not only was he very pleasant, he worked his tail off - when we wanted to use the eating area for some business work mid-morning, he was personally cleaning all the tables and the floor, smiling all the while - and then opened the small conference room for us to work so we wouldn't be disturbed! All for the same price as the quite-dated Hampton Inn down the road. This will be my only option when I return to this area!

Hubby and I stayed here for one night and the place was great! Staff was very attentive, room was huge! We had a full kitchen with two burner stove and table and chairs and Normal size fridge, living room area with TV, King bed with a TV in the room, desk and chair, walk in shower! Room was very clean. Definitely did t need all that for one night but it’s nice to be able to just sit on a sofa and spread out instead of just sitting on a bed. Hubby went to breakfast and said it was the normal hotel breakfast which included waffle maker, eggs, sausage. I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is showing a lot of wear and could use a refresh. The desk people were nice. The gym is good. It is walkable to restaurants and mall next door. The breakfast was the norm for this type of property. A little tricky to get into if traffic is busy.

Great location and roomy suite, with two televisions. Also a kitchenette and coffeemaker. Very cozy. The staff was terrific! They were helpful with the few small questions and requests we had. Breakfast was very nice, as always at Hilton properties. The location is wonderful. There are plenty of nice shops and eateries nearby. Going during the holidays meant the Koziar Christmas Village was happening. Charming and big enough to enjoy for the evening. They had shops for hot chocolate and snacks in almost every section of the park. We highly recommend the hotel.

So much promise, so much disappointment. Room was large. We had 126 with a fireplace. Hot water ran out. Internet was down for our last two days. They hadn’t paid the bill. True story. How does that happen? Dishes in the room were dirty. The tub didn’t have a plug. They said the plugs were on back order. I asked that someone run to Target and get a new one. They said they couldn’t because it wasn’t Hilton standard. So we had to go to Target and buy our own. We asked twice one day for our room to be cleaned. Completely ignored. Poor training and poor follow through. No accountability. Breakfast was outstanding though.
