We stayed 3 nights for a volleyball tournament and it was quiet and the normal beds you would expect from a Westin. The bar however is awful. She didn’t know to make a Shirley temple after two attempts and was not friendly at all. Rolled her eyes when I asked what Rose wine she had and the sprite was flat but of course still charged for it when I said my son can’t even drink it. We are from the south so maybe expected more friendly hospitality but none here. Woman at day shift Check in didn’t give us our bonus points or even care about our gold elite status. Evening men were nicer when I asked about food. Again, room was fine.

The lobby bar was decent and the servers there were very attentive and friendly. That is the only redeeming quality of this hotel. There was no valet parking available which is odd for a city hotel, and the self-parking was very confusing and in a dark and nasty public parking garage that requires a walk around the block or through a shopping mall to get to the hotel lobby. Thankfully I only had one small bag. If I were carrying a lot of luggage it would be unmanageable. Upon check in, there was no one there at the counter to check me in. Come to find out they were off in the lobby area chit chatting away, while obviously noticing people waiting to be checked in. The rooms are very run down and not very clean. The pillows were really bad and the covers on the bed seemed like they were from the 1980s. Not at all what I'd expect from a Westin property in a major US city.

Beware, this improper charge does not appear on the invoice when you check out, it is hidden from you, and, after you get home, you’ll find a separate charge on your credit card for "Rm Chrg — Reward Redemption" that you’ll need to dispute. This doesn’t give you a good impression/memory of the hotel. The hotel was formerly the Ritz Carlton, but, after a downgrade, gone are the days of the marble lobby, and the fireplace, and the dining room, and any sense of elegance. No bathrobes, and, even after requesting, they weren’t delivered. Service was sub-par, no one was particularly welcoming, and the only smile we received was from the server at breakfast. Everyone else seemed upset to be working. It’s a perfectly nice chain hotel, but, if you have any memory of the Ritz Carlton, you will be disappointed. And, again, there is no surcharge for redeeming your points, and the “surprise” bill on my credit card for a reward redemption left a bad taste.

Spent a couple extra days in the city following a week long business event. The Westin has always been a reliable choice, also here in Philly! Room was spacious, comfortable as one would expect from The Westin. Location is super convenient. Bar food & drinks were great, staff friendly - minor remark would be that the bar service was a bit slow at times; due to understaffing I believe. Would not hesitate booking here again when back in Philadelphia.

The valet was super friendly and helpful in guiding walking directions in the city as well as local recommendations. Phil was especially the best! Returning to the hotel to retire for the evening, Phil went the extra mile and brought up the phone to our room when we left it in the car. However, not everyone was as welcoming, there was a gentleman working at the front desk at the time of check in and was not helpful in explaining the clarification of the valet vs self park options when calling the hotel 10min before arriving at the property. Once we arrived at the front desk, after check in with a very nice lady, I had inquired about the clarification regarding the parking as my question was not answered over the phone. The Gentleman next to her asked if I was the person that just called about the question the procedes to respond with a scoff, eye roll , and says something along the lines of what is so hard to understand what valet parking is. After checking into the hotel room, the housekeeping team was wonderful and the room was clean and spotless. The TV in the room was experiencing signal trouble during our stay and making popping noises. When we reported to front desk, the engineer came in 10-15 minutes and attempted to troubleshoot but was unfortunately left unresolved. We also order room service and the food was cooked wonderfully and delivered early than scheduled :) Unfortunately due to the feeling at check in by a rude greeting from the gentleman at the front desk plus the issue with the TV this stay was average.
