Stayed at this property for 3 nights for a business conference and loved it! Staff was wonderful: front desk, housekeeping, restaurant servers, bartenders, managers, all very friendly and helpful. Really nice M Club stocked with great snacks including hot breakfast and appetizers in the evening. The location is within walking distance to many sights such as the Reading Market, Chinatown, The Liberty Bell, and other historic bars and restaurants. Highly recommend this hotel!

Nicely located near the river and edge of the Old City. Key sights and transportation are all within walking distance. The good: still relatively newly renovated (2018 with the COVID slump). Rooms are nicely sized and clean. Large and very comfortable M Club that offers 24hr 7-day a week access. Good beverage selection and breakfast and evening offerings are good. Bartenders at the atrium bar were friendly. The needs some improvement: wow the Atrium is loud! The often busy bar is uncomfortable to visit with all of the noise. Front desk and M Club staff are either totally indifferent or just not very darn friendly. No housekeeping between nights. Warning: if you’re a light sleeper consider turning down a river facing upgrade. A lot of highway noise. They do provide ear plugs, so the hotel is well aware. These rooms will be great when the above interstate Penn Landing Park is completed.

The decor of the hotel is nice, but it ends there. I did not see a single smile on any staff's face, no big deal? Imagine getting no answers instantly to every request. Imagine walking into the M Club (the Lounge for Platinum Elite and above) and saying hello and good morning to the lady working there and imagine her grumpily ignoring you and walking away. Then imagine a heater that doesn't work in 30 degree weather and the staff basically saying too bad, bundle up buddy, their TVs do not have any way to connect HDMI, and the HVAC is the room is crazy noisy (even though it doesn't work). They don't have warm comforters, only blanket and sheet, so imagine cuddling up in a ball at night in 30 degree weather with two sets of sheets and blankets, sleeping with your sweater and outside jacket on and paying $300 per night for this. If you have been able to imagine all of this, then you already know what it's like to stay here and you can book elsewhere.

Hotel is one of those that is centered around a social area and that encourages people to party all they like, as long as they are spending money, and keep all other guests up until after 2a. The noise is deafening, come out of the center area. The food choices here are very, very limited and the food costs are very, very high. I paid $32 for 2 cans of coke and 2 bottles of water, delivered to my room. When I went down to breakfast, since I was told they were short-staffed and couldn't offer room service, the one person working was coughing and hacking all over the breakfast buffet. No thank you to that. So....will never stay here again, will go hungry until I can find somewhere else to get food, and felt that the general approach towards client service was very 'ah, well'.

Wonderful hotel, excellent service - special shout out to Shaneese G. In addition, the food service was excellent. From the start of my visit to the Philadelphia Marriott in Society Hill, I felt welcomed and supported in every way. I will return again and again.
