Homewood Suites by Hilton DuBois PA

I stayed at The Homewood Suites in DuBois, PA, while on a work assignment, and I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of my room. Upon arrival, the toilet in my first room wasn't working, and while the staff quickly upgraded me, the new room was far from clean. The duvet had visible stains, the bathtub had mold, and the shower curtain was filthy. Despite requesting housekeeping the next day, only the duvet and shower curtain were replaced, with the rest of the room left unclean. I had to purchase my own sheets and cleaning supplies just to feel somewhat comfortable. Very disappointing experience for a Hilton property.

We read the reviews and saw the ratings. Being a Hilton we expected more. Had reserved a one bedroom suite for the 3 of us. When we checked in the room was freezing. It’s August! Tried turning the thermostat up but could not maintain. Ended up using blankets. The sofa bed had no bedding - had to call to front desk and go down and pickup personally. The beds were comfortable but the bathroom door could not close more than 1/2 way. Tile floor prevented that. Bathroom had two switches but only one worked. When you turned on light the fan also came on. So sleeping in that room was very difficult. Other Light switches in room did not work either. It was also difficult to get hot water in shower. Shower curtain was moldy. Didn’t use the kitchen except for refrigerator. The room as a whole could use lots of loving care. Even though we were to stay four nights we checked out after one night. The hotel was booked and said they had no other room for the 3 of us. Travelocity was very helpful in speaking with them so we were only charged one night. Will never stay at this property again. Other hotels in area are more favorable

Check in was smooth. Our Rooms were Neat and clean. Only problem was Air conditioner was very loud . We have to turnoff AC . Otherwise room were comfortable. Breakfast was not that good . Other wise staff was nice and cordial. Will try once again if in this Area.

The positive: staff is friendly and accommodating. They are clearly trying to do the right things. Most issues faced have more to do with management and not the staff. Hotel is well located and somewhat isolated from high traffic roads but still with easy access. The negative: did not recognize my HH status. Elevator was not fully operational. Issues with items broken or not functioning (desk chair, refrigerator noise, thermostat, TV cutting in and out) in the room. One day cost for a small pet of $75 was outrageous given the Hilton states in their marketing that they are 'pet friendly.' Nothing provided for the pet for the fee charged. Hotel is gloomy. Better choices, at a lower price point, available in DuBois.

We stayed here for three nights for a softball tournament and had a good overall stay. The hotel lobby and breakfast area is very large and overall the hotel is clean. The rooms were good you can hear people above you walking on the floors and ours walked til midnight and was up at 5:00 so not a lot of peace and quiet. They have a workout room where the TV doesn’t work and a pool. We were there 3 nights and never got cleaning service or fresh towels. We had to go to the front desk to replenish towels and toilet paper and to get sheets and pillows for the pull out sofa. This is the newest most expensive hotel in town and it’s fine but not a lot better than the other ones.
