Extended Stay America Select Suites Pittsburgh Cranberry

Funny (NOT), but I never got to stay in this rather dingy looking place, even after I booked it for 20 days thru Priceline!!! When my son and I arrived, the front desk was unattended, with a notice to use the lobby phone to call for the attendant. The lobby phone had a notice on it that it didn't work and to call a number with my own phone! I called and the person said they would be there in 10 minutes! I waited, and talked with a resident who had the room's laundry with him he was to turn in at the front desk. He said the attendant was not there very often. A couple more residents came into the lobby just before the attendant showed up 15 minutes after my call. When the fellow checked my reservation for a kitchenette, he looked up at me and said: "I can't rent to you for we have had a bad experience with you in the past." I have never stayed at one of these places before! I told him such, but he said I had apparently got into it with another renter! I said, "how could that be if I had never stayed at one of these places?" He shrugged! I asked for when this occurred, for I immediately worried that maybe somebody had stolen my identity! He could not answer! I asked for a number to corporate headquarters. He gave me a number, which I called, and that non citizen sounding fellow could not and would not disclose the information I requested! My daughter-in-law said they probably over booked and didn't want to admit it! It turned out to be a blessing, for I found a wonderful Choice Hotels Comfort Inn several blocks away for a lower price and with great amenities, Hot breakfast, great room, staff, and other great travelers! I am fortunate that I have never stayed at an Extended Stay America Hotel!!!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Pick a different location. I stayed here for an extended period of time due to moving to the area and needing to find a home. The front desk is never manned and you almost always have to use the courtesy phone to have someone come up for you. The hotel constantly reeks of weed and people prop doors open and stand by them to smoke so the stairwell constantly smells of cigarette smoke. The walls and floors are paper thin and you can hear your neighbors all the time. They promise house keeping every 2 weeks, which never happened. The finishes in the rooms are nice and more updated than their other locations but not worth is. My biggest complaint with them and recommend that you be careful with is PREPAYMENT. DO NOT PREPAY!!!! If you prepay and have to check out early or even change locations for that matter they will not refund you your money, and their corporate office will do nothing to assist you either. I prepaid for 2 months and ended up switching to another Extended Stay location due to the distance to my work. I verified with the front desk before making the change, would I receive a refund and they informed me that I would, WHICH IS NOT THE CASE!!!! Their hotel is not worth $3k for 2 months, especially for what they give you, or I should say lack there of

I was hesitant starting my 4 month stay based on some reviews but Robert the maintenance guy put it all to rest. I had some minor issues in which Robert fixed with no problems and went above what I asked for. The room was clean . The bedspreads could be updated but they were clean. Also furniture was worn . Overall I would recommend the hotel. Again a big shout out to Robert for welcoming me to Pittsburgh and making me comfortable in my choice.

Extended Stay America Cranberry Aug 22, 2023 Pre-Covid, we stayed at this personal favorite hotel when it was Hyatt, 3-4x a year. Now, it’s horrible: No citrus-flavored water or apples in lobby. One elevator out of service. Elevator had lots of debris on floor. Hallways hot/ smelly/damp; 1st room was trashy/ not clean: toothpaste residue at sinks; hair in kitchen sink; smudges on mirrors; clump of dark hair in bathroom/ unknown residue on phone; bed linens untidy; corners of room / bathroom had debris. A/C going but little cooling - still very humid in room. Got another room: only marginally better. Still dirty: stain on sheet; hair pin in drawer; trash in metal mesh cans UNDER the plastic trash bag; some forgotten item on the floor near the bed (looked like a zipdrive!); tub drained so poorly that the water was ankle high by end of shower; Had to run A/C very high yet still humid in room — bed linens / floor felt damp. No extra blankets. No coffee maker in room. Breakfast = All carbs: granola bars; instant oatmeal (hot water only); oranges; small sugary yogurt; muffins. Watery coffee in one single pot. Hyatt had the best breakfast ever, with protein. But none here now. Sad to see, remembering how lovely it was previously. POSITIVE: Beds are comfortable. 3 fluffy pillows each Queen bed. Rooms LOOK nice - a holdover from Hyatt. Sturdy coffee cups.

Would not recommend this Extended Stay. We stayed Thursday thru Sunday. In the room, the cups for coffee were the same cups for water, thin plastic water glass. They also do not clean your room daily which was not mentioned to us when checking in. Since the room was not cleaned, extra coffee for the remaining 2 days was not available. The breakfast offering was packaged muffins/bakery, breakfast bars, yogurt and hard boiled eggs. No juice. They called it a grab n go breakfast. We were told by the front desk that breakfast was 6:00 am to 9:30. It was also advertised in the elevator. When going down the first day (which was a Friday), the clerk behind the desk said only coffee is offered at 6:00 am. Breakfast was starting at 7:00. When coming back in the evening, the sign in the elevator had the 6:00 am starting time crossed off and 7:00 written above it. The elevators were filthy...food and crumbs on the carpeting. Never cleaned while we were there. One of the two elevators only worked for one day. Since it is six stories, you waited forever for an elevator.
