My husband and I stayed at this Fairfield Inn last week while on a cycling trip on the GAP Trail. The hotel is ideally located if you are riding the trail from Pittsburgh and are starting at Point State Park. We also walked across the bridge to the Incline and had dinner at the Grand Concourse, both within easy walking distance. We found our room to be quite small, but it met our needs. The hotel staff was very friendly, and the free breakfast had a lot of choices. The hotel lobby definitely did not look like the photos online, but I was able to read in the breakfast room.

I spent 6 nights in this hotel, which is in downtown Pittsburgh. I was very distressed by the total lack of security. The hotel is on a main street, but there is minimal foot traffic. However, there is a homeless encampment a very short distance away. The front door is about 20 yards from the readily accessible elevator, where a room key is not needed to reach the rooms. There was rarely any hotel employee at the valet stand or the front desk, unless it was early in the morning.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER IN 40 YEARS TRAVELLING. Booked in May for September birthday to first Steelers home game. Travelled 3 flights and two trains to get here, 14,000+ kms. Arrived and they had sold the room to someone else. No call, no email, nothing. Pittsburgh totally sold out. Tried to kick us out instead of allowing us to sit in the lobby and find an alternative- donāt bother to help! Rude, unhelpful, disgusting. DO NOT STAY HERE.

We booked this rather last minute to go to the Mets/Pirates games. It was just a short train ride to the stadium, which was fine. The rooms were clean and nice sized. The breakfast was in a large room with plenty to choose from each morning (although they could use another waffle maker since it is very popular). It was a hot week to visit and the A/C worked perfectly and was nice and quiet. We choose to valet park since there really didn't seem to be any options nearby to self park. The location was also fantastic for biking, all along the river, you can go on for miles and miles. One of the negatives, there really weren't many options to eat right around the hotel. You can cross the bridge and find the chain restaurants like Hard Cafe and Joe's Crab Shack but nothing right around the corner. Another note, there weren't any plugs on either side of the bed. I point this out because I like to sleep with the sound machine on my phone and the battery dies if it isn't plugged in all night. Survived :) by plugging it in across the room and making it louder but I thought the location of the plugs odd.

Hotel is located directly at highway, so cars drive through your room all night long. Very poor noise isolation given those circumstances Maybe itās a little bit better to the other side, but in any case avoid rooms with water views, you will regret it.
