Left Coast Lodge

Brutal. Don’t stay here. We were driving from Beaverton to Boulder City and made a last minute decision to enjoy Sisters. My son his wife and my 1 year old granddaughter wanted to join us so we got them a room also. They were to leave a few hours after us. On the way to Sisters we experience bad weather through the pass. We checked in with my son and he was concerned that they did not have snow chains and the trip would be unsafe. We called to cancel their room, but we were refused any compensation because we booked through a third party. I understand that these sites take a cut, but their attitude was simply “tough luck”. No off of a partial discount or a future stay. They even tout their winery in the room, but they couldn’t even offer something a bottle of wine. We paid $200 for an unoccupied room! No apology. Nothing. They just said it is our “policy”. I have been in hospitality my whole life. The room was…eh. Terrible hospitality. Do not stay here. Not worth it. Bad place. Bad people.

My first reaction on entering #9 was that it was a bit funky, but I soon came to appreciate the hardwood and tile floors and the mini kitchenette. Also, because this room was not carpeted, there were no doggy odors from previous guests, and my dog settled in without smelling every corner. The bed was very comfortable, and I slept well. The property was quiet at night. The owners have done a nice job modernizing this old motel while keeping some of the original charm. I really enjoyed my stay and hope to return. We did have a bit of trouble finding Left Coast Lodge as my GPS was not effective. A staff person answered the phone and guided me in. The lodge is located on the north end of town near Les Schwab tires.

I was looking forward to staying in Sisters after a long drive. I got a room at this place. I made a reservation about three hours from when I would arrive. It’s cute, nice amenities, hot tub, yoga deck, dog run, within walking distance to shopping and food. There was a family of deer hanging next to the room I was supposed to have. But, when I arrived the room had not been made up. I called the person I spoke to originally and was assigned a new room. That too was nice. But as an older remodel it was small, clean, neat, and the bed was very comfortable. The remodel of a very old motel was done well, but they had to work with old electric wiring for madden technology. I was fine with that but would have liked to have read my email earlier that told me I could get coffee on the office deck. I was a little put off of the lack of never meeting or seeing anyone in the office. But my calls were attended to prompting and completely. It was too smokey to really take advantage of any of the amenities outside and the cable/satellite TV connection conked out after 30 minutes. Since this happened at most of the places I stayed on my trip, chalking that up to bad provider. I stayed at this same place years before under different owners.

We spent one night at the Left Coast Lodge while motorcycling in the area. Our selection was based on Google reviews and we were not disappointed. From the discount for booking online, the electronic checkin process, the spaciousness and additional amenities, such as the hot tub, hammocks and more, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We also enjoyed having the lodge within walking distance of local restaurants and shops, yet away from the bustling historic town centre. The lodge is outdoor-enthusiast friendly with places to store bicycles, including a washing station. We highly recommend the lodge to others who might be exploring the area.

We loved this place. Great self check in with code locks. Easy to contact the friendly staff if you need. Strong coffee available at 8:00 am. Cool design on top of the retro bones. The spirit of the original "motel" is honored. Walk to nice restaurants/bakery. Dog friendly. We would stay here again.
