Red Lion Hotel Coos Bay

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Took my wife to a little birthday getaway to Coos Bay. We contacted the manager and needed to know if their hot tub was in working order, she told us yes, its definitely working. when we arrived at 4:15 pm our room was not ready, we waited for about 15 min and they gave us the key to a different room. While waiting I checked out the pool and hot tub they were both GREEN as could be, I put my hand in to smell if there was any chlorine and no odor of the chemical. How disappointed we were, turns out all the other hotels know that their pool and hot tub haven't been working for years so we were lied to. Do not stay here as the owners seem to be careless and don't want to inject any money into this hotel. The staff had their children either live there or the parents brought them to work. They all seemed to be high on something. Wow very unprofessional. Our 2nd night was spent at the Best Western, a much better experience.

The service is bad. The beds are ok, but there is alot of traffic noise. We left to go out and meet with friends for the day but when we got back the towels were not picked up nor the bins emptied, etc. The beds were not made. So basically no service was done to the room at all. I had to go request towels to use for the next day. We will not be staying at this hotel again.

Very comfortable and quiet room. Rate was very reasonable. Breakfast was okay. There was a selection of drinks, yogurt and breakfast burritos in a refrigerated cooler that you could help yourself to. There were also pastries. Not set up to sit and eat but it was okay. Our friends stayed just down the street at the Motel 6 for about the same price. This hotel was far superior.

Check in was REALLY slow. It's not close to anything for food so be prepared to drive. The room was big and bath area was nice with two sinks but no garbage can in the bath area?? And the little bottles of shampoo. Good amount of plugs and USB ports, fridge (no microwave) and nice water pressure. "Breakfast" was underwhelming.

They are very helpful at the front desk. Rooms are clean and staff in housekeeping are very nice and professional. They give you doggy swag when you bring your fur babies. Very cool addition. Our pup felt so happy to get treats n toy upon arrival. She took the little toy everywhere with her.
