I want to live here! It's a beautiful, classic hotel that gets all of the details right. I've stayed here three times over the years, and always had an excellent experience. Lovely, comfortable rooms, gorgeous lobby, helpful staff and great location.

A wonderfully restored old hotel. The rooms are small, but that is how they were back in the day. The bed was very nice. The continental breakfast was OK, nothing special. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with suggestions for local food. Tips for Dog Owners: 1. At the opposite end of the block is Pioneer Street. If you follow this uphill (away from Main Street) it quickly turns into a dead end and then a sand/dirt path above Lithia Park (no dogs allowed in the park.) You can walk the trail .8 miles up to a parking lot for a nice morning walk. Be forewarned, there are a lot of deer on the hillside, so consider this if you are going off-leash. 2. There is a good dog park about a mile away (Ashland Dog Park.) It even has a small shelter so you can stay out of the rain. The park seemed to have a lot of friendly regulars.

A beautiful opulent historical hotel, right in the middle of Main Street, we did not have a car and were able to walk to all of the cute shops and eateries, even saw a herd of deer walk down the street, the most wonderful stay at a gorgeous comfortable hotel

One can't fault the rooms with their pleasing decor and comfortable furnishings. We were fortunate to be on the 4th floor, because there is only one elevator with a limit of 5 people. The second night I realized the HVAC system was dehydrating us, the suction being so strong. It took me a while to figure out how to change the settings. Although we were often out of the room during the day, we did not always get room service. When we went for tea and cookies the one day we decided to go, the room was closed, but nothing was posted about the change in location. That said, the continental breakfast has many choices and is well-managed! The Lark Restaurant is one of the best in town, but get a reservation early!
