Candlewood Suites Midwest City an IHG Hotel

Although the room was spacious it had a distinctive musty/cigarette smoke odor. The front desk said that it was a non-smoking room but my nose does not lie. Not once in 3 days did any cleaning crew come through to remove the garbage, refill coffee pods, make beds, change towels, etc. The entire hotel ( 4 floors) had exactly ONE ice maker. It was out of ice by 8:30 am due to softball teams getting ice. There is no complimentary breakfast and they charge an exorbitant amount for convenient breakfast items in the "Cupboard" which was always a mess. The side door would not open and the front desk said it was because of the humidity affecting the keys which was BS. The hotel had a run-down and unclean look to it. Avoid this hotel; many other options in Midwest City/Del City.

I stayed in an ADA room (accessible) for 2 nights at the Midwest City Candlewood. I highly recommend this property, especially for long term stays. Although I only stayed 2 nights, I loved the super clean room and the quietness of the area. Coffee pot, refrigerator and microwave in a small kitchenette. Dishes, flatware and pots/pans in room. No breakfast, but plenty of restaurants nearby. The motel is right behind my favorite restaurant- Ted’s Cafe Escondido. Best Tex Mex ever! Overall, the location was great. Easy on/off Interstate 40. You can’t go wrong by staying here!

Clean hotel, very basic. Staff uninterested and just doing their job. No continental breakfast. Places $75 hold on credit card for incidentals. A little road noise from interstate. Close to good restaurants.

The Candlewood Suites is right off the highway and is in a new-build area in Del City. Easy to get around in OKC, near the Air Force Base. This place is newer, very clear and no frills. They don't have breakfast but do have workout facilities and a pool. I think for around $80 this is a very quality stay that is more than worth the price.

So....I gave a 2 star only because my room is clean. I JUST checked into Candlewood Suites. I made reservation with Priceline 2 weeks ago. When I got here, the guy behind the front desk says "do you know our our fee?" I said "I'm sure its what most places are..about $15," He says "I just want to warn you before I swipe your card. It's $75. Is that ok?" I was like "oh well..it is what it is." What am I supposed to do!??!!Im here with no place else to go!! #SMH I travel with my 6lb non shedding Maltese. He is also my certified ESA. BEWARE ALL PET OWNERS!!!!!!!! I have stayed at a Candlewood Suites in the past in another state and it wasn't this much. If you reserve using a site like Priceline or Expedia, make sure to either search really hard for the pet fee info or call the hotel directly and ask. Obviously this has been a problem in the past if he had to "warn me" before swiping my card for the pet fee. Not all Candlewood Suites are created equal apparently!
