Holiday Inn Express & Suites Blackwell an IHG Hotel

Carpet was stained and disgusting, thermostat screen did not work so you had no idea what the temperature was set at, tiles in the bathroom were loose and coming up one of which cut my foot, TV had lines going across the screen and barely worked! Pool was drained and “out of order”, only one elevator worked.

Hotel is off of I-35. Got there early, and turns out they had a room, however the newer employee wasn’t sure how to do an early check in because it had been a long time. That’s fine- I’ve been there. He tried to call his boss for help, however the outside line wasn’t working! He eventually had another employee contact her and she came in to help. During this, I offered to go into town and come back later, but they ended up figuring it out. Used the lobby’s computer to print out tickets and it was painfully slow. I even had to reboot and it didn’t help much! Room is on first floor but luckily no floor noise from above. Comfortable bed, TV is DIRECTV so large selection. Water pressure not good. Typical HIE breakfast. The view outside is a field, showing how rural the area is right outside of the town. There is a pool but I didn’t use it.

Very handy to I-135. Relatively new. Spacious, simple, contemporary rooms. Ok hot breakfast. Quiet if you run the AC fan on Low Continuous. Accommodating staff. Biggest drawback is they allow pets. I nearly witnessed a dog fight in the lobby. Please people, leave your animals at home.

I stay at many hotels throughout the year. This place is by far the dirtiest hotel I’ve been at in years. First off upon getting into my room I noticed the toilet had not been cleaned, there was feces splattered up the back of the toilet bowl. Secondly I noticed a large yellow/brown stain on the bedding. The fridge was dirty, hairdryer had a coating of dust on it. Floors around the fridge were disgusting as well. The coffee table was dirty, black mold growing in the shower, the elevator doors looked as though they have never been cleaned. The list goes on… For a hotel chain that boasts about its cleanliness it sure fails at this place.

The customer service was awful our entire stay and every single staff kept making the excuse that they’re short handed. Our room was not fully cleaned, and when we checked in to our 2 bed room we had 1 bath towel, no wash cloths, no bath mat towel, 1 coffee cup. We were concerned that it wasn’t clean. The beds were slapped together it looked slept in it was so wrinkled. Lastly, the breakfast was super small. I was shocked because I never book a hotel with reviews under 4 stars or so but this place should’ve had a 2 star rating honestly.
