Red Roof Inn St Clairsville Wheeling West

I was hesitant and nervous about my upcoming stay as I had not stayed at a Red Roof Inn before and have had bad experiences with inexpensive hotels. But I was pleasantly surprised. Room was clean and bug free which is my top priority! Bed was comfortable. Shower was ok. Water was fine but looked like it needed some repair work. Nothing that made me uneasy to use it. Bonus. - dogs are free! I was traveling with a dog and paying $50-75 extra for the dog makes for an expensive hotel bill. I generally don't like staying in motel style hotels. For some reason, not having the interior corridors make me uneasy, especially when traveling alone. But with the dog I was ok and it turns out being able to walk outside from my room to let her go to the bathroom was very convenient. Management was very friendly. Great couple! There's a great pizza place right around the corner (you can easily walk there). Can't remember the name but pizza was good and affordable.

Absolutely horrible experience. We visited this hotel while traveling across the United States to move to our new home. My husband, infant, and myself stayed in one room. And our friend had the other that was helping us moved. Upon checking in, we noticed there were stink bugs everywhere in the room. We counted at least 12 in our room. In our friends room next to us, there was 6. There were also stains all over the sheets/ bed cover when we pulled back the comforter. We decided to not stay and let the front desk know. They REFUSED to give our money back to Priceline (whom we booked through). They told Priceline we USED the room when in fact I would NEVER stay here with my infant. She’s highly allergic to roaches which are related to the stink bug family. Highly disappointed with this red roof inn as we have stayed in many other ones before. Save yourself time and book elsewhere!

Great value for your money hotel. Clean rooms. Decent size. Helpful, friendly staff. Our TV didn't work so they moved us to another room right away. No problems. Comfy beds. Good location. Love that they had fridge in room. Outside looked well kept.

I have been on many road trips. This is by far the best Red Roof Inn I’ve stayed at. Clean, really comfortable bed, Quiet. If you need a place to stay near Wheeling West Virginia, this is the best bang for the buck you’ll find. Try it, or go spend more money somewhere else.

Pros: Good bedding, towels were decent, staff was happy, modern HVAC, fine ice machine. Great value for the dollar. Cons: limited channel lineup with Lodgenet. Main entrance/exit is a very steep and long hill. Use the back driveway. Coffee is only in the lobby 5:30-11am. Would I stay again? Yeah, I would.
