Home2 Suites by Hilton Columbus Dublin

I’m so confused by all the good reviews. I usually love staying at Home2Suites when traveling with my kids but this was just bad! I booked it because of the good reviews but upon arrival the hotel has such an awful smell. Like an old building. It continues throughout the hotel. Once in our room there were so many stains. The rug was covered in stains, the couch was covered in stains, the curtain was dirty. It was so bad! My husband travels for work and stays at all kinda of hotels almost weekly and he said even some of the cheapest hotels he’s stayed in haven’t been this bad. Normally I wouldn’t leave a bad review but I feel like maybe they are paying people to leave good reviews because there is no way everyone is saying that it’s clean. Even the hallway rugs are just so dirty and stained!

This is a nice hotel. I stayed one night. The hotel is clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Upon checking into my room, I was surprised by how spacious it was. I had a couch and two queen beds. I had a full-size refrigerator, dishes, and dishwasher. The beds were comfortable. The shower was nice and hot. The continental breakfast was good. There are plenty of choices. Just keep in mind that it is just that a continental breakfast. Enjoy.

Big objection is have to pay over $3 per night to park. Feels like nicke and diming. Location is near downtown Dublin. It is within walking distance of a Krogers and within easy driving distance of many restaurants. The hotel was built in 2017. It is reasonably clean and has a somewhat modern furniture look. There is a small market. The commode in the lobby restroom did not flush. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was good size with a good mattress. The room had a full size refrigerator, large microwave, and a dishwasher. The bathroom is a bit small with limited counter space. The room has a lot of cabinet space. The bed is very close to the wall and A/C. The A/C is quite cold when running. There was some noise from the occupant on the floor above us. There was no street noise. There was a dog urine stain on the carpet and another stain on the arm of the sofa bed. There is one TV. The desk is nice with a professional office chair. The rate of about $185 for a King Suites is competitive. The breakfast is well stocked. There is granola and many cereal toppings. There are a variety of egg sandwiches. The fitness room is large. The floor is rubberized, but a bit dirty. There are no floor mats. There are three treadmills, but one doesn't work. There is a recumbent bike and a Peloton. The speed and distance monitor on the recumbent bike did not work. There are free weights and a universal machine. The ceiling has water stains. One acoustical tile was ready to fall on someone. It was fixed when reported. The business center has two computers, one printer and only one office chair. It has no privacy.

We stayed here twice in a week. First on a Saturday night and we had room 121, first floor near the elevators. It was awful due to all the traffic noise and elevator noise. When we returned the second time we got a room facing the parking lot, on the 3rd floor and it was fantastic, no noise. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room’s layout was nice, good lighting, plenty of counter space and outlets. The bed was comfy and the shower had good pressure. We liked the location and felt safe. While the hotel has a free breakfast, there is a great restaurant called First Watch within 5 mins drive. Also we really enjoyed the restaurant “Eat Greek” which is 5 mins away on Frantz Rd.

Best hotel experience we've had in a long time! Super friendly staff at the front desk, a nice smaller pool, huge lobby, a true hot continental breakfast with more than just waffles. Rooms were clean and well decorated. Bathrooms were clean. Kitchenette with flatware and silverware. Lovely little sitting area on each floor overlooking the city.
