Home2 Suites by Hilton Dayton Vandalia

I love Homes2Suites and so i was very disapointed in the quality of housekeeping when we arrived. NO toilet paper in the bathroom, and no tissues. Not a comfortable situation. There were no sheets or linens for the sofa bed so we had to call down to the front desk a second time. Then, suffering insomnia, I went down to the lobby at 3 am to read. Later I couldn't get back into my room. Key stopped working. The front desk issued me a replacement, that didn't work. I had to go down to the front desk 3 times in the middle of the night! Finally a manager figured out it was the battery in the mechanism and let me in. Left with nothing but bad memories. This isn't my usual experience with Hilton.

We always stay at Hiltons, but had never been in a Home2 Suites before. I was a bit disappointed by the room. It was clean and had a full kitchen, but everything was adequate at best. Things seems rather flimsy - good thing it is relatively new because I don't expect it to age well. The bed was comfortable, so that was a plus. The microwave tray was broken and, although there were a lot of plugs seemingly available, most of them did not work. The air conditioner/heater worked, but was LOUD; so loud you could even hear it cycling on and off in the rooms next door. I ran the dishes through the dishwasher but they came out with a chalky film on them so we opted not to use them. Breakfast was similar to Hamptons; egg croissant sandwich quite good but nothing else very special. We didn't leave hungry since there was yogurt and (runny) oatmeal. Whatever shortcomings the room had, though, was made up for by the extremely friendly and helpful desk staff. Anything we needed was taken care of immediately. The area seemed safe and there was ample parking. All-in-all, an okay stay.

I stayed only one night but I managed to forget my favorite lighted Make-up mirror when I checked out. I realized it the next evening and called and spoke to Kia. She was very accommodating and told me she would let me know if it was found. She called the next day and informed me that she had found it! She advised me on emailing a prepaid shipping label and she carefully wrapped it and sent it and I received it in perfect condition! Kia went above and beyond to help me. And our stay there was great as well.

The BEST check in experience EVER!!! KIA is one of a kind...after a bad experience at Chick-fil-A and a late day on the road she was so helpful, courteous & genuine...she should be training all Hilton's front desk personnel...If I could I would give this Establishment & it's Management a 10 star review . The greeting, extra's, clean rooms & breakfast...I have never been treated better.

The rooms at the Home2Suites in Dayton Ohio were not 'nasty' as the last three of 5 reviews on Trip Advisor said. Rolling in late last night on the last of our CO to VA/MD trip home we found the rooms clean, well appointed, kind/friendly, staff, above average breakfast service...all which made for a super great overnight experience! We've stayed in a multitude of Hilton properties from high end to average and this one was among the best all around! Hope to find one opening soon at King's Dominion in Doswell, Va!
