Candlewood Suites Polaris an IHG Hotel

This hotel is in a really good location. It is near the Interstates and is also close to some nice restaurants. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The bed is nice and soft but not overly soft. The room was very clean and the dishes were very clean. This is a nice extended stay hotel.

Arriving at the hotel, I was created by Rebecca, and she was very polite and professional. She got me checked in and gave me a choice on what floor, which I was very surprised. Most places never do that. It's not usually your choice unless you request it. This place appeared to be amazing. We got the key card to the pool, had no issues and got to swim, and enjoyed the hot tub. So very relaxing! Went out for a bit to eat and got back and am now preparing to sleep. Been an amazing experience here, and I will always continue to come back to Candlewood Suites as long as they will have me! I felt compassion, care, and professionalism, and they treated me as a person and as if I were a part of their family. Rebecca checked me in, and when my son was cold, Linda was there in the middle of the night to promptly provide me with another blanket and pillow for him. I stay a lot of places in my life, and I am a customer service professional. This place really left me stunned at their employees and they really showed they care about their guests.

Went on May 18 when prices were very high apparently because of metal concert. Room was decent, but the sofabed mattress was unbelievably bad -- wires felt through thin fabric. Should be illegal to use. Front desk and breakfast fine though. Would only go back if regular prices and if didn't require sofabed.

Do not stay here. Property is disgusting, run down, and just plain nasty. This place is less like a hotel and more like a homeless refuge and should just be turned into that. Upon arrival there were about 6 people smoking out front. They were barefoot and had torn clothes with stains all over them. On the other side of the parking lot, a family was evicted from a room and all their belongings were stacked up in the parking lot where they stayed for 5 hours before they left. Upon getting an assigned room, second floor room 215, we walked into broken flooring, the entire bottom of the tub was cracked and peeling and hadn’t been cleaned as there was pubic hair all over it. The walls looked like someone smeared dirt all over them. The refrigerator was dented and scraped all over. Door handles were missing on cabinets and room door was off kilter and looks to have been previously kicked in. The really bad… the bed had BLOOD on it. Not just little specks… I’m talking large stains. After asking to be refunded the front desk person offered to move us to room 319. While the room was partially better, it still was not worth the $328 a night. Rooms keys do not get you into the pool. You have to sign out keys at the front desk for the pool. Odd. Clientele… now I’m not one to degrade or look down upon someone, but let’s be real here. This hotel has people not just staying here, but actually living here. I had someone ask me for money in the elevator who was obviously homeless and living here. The grounds are just rundown, dirty, and overused. We left after one night promptly after no night of sleep and will never stay at an IHG property ever again. I was promised compensation from the front desk gentleman and have yet to see any credits to my card used on file. This is NOT a family establishment. It is a glorified homeless camp and nothing more. Beware.

We stopped on the way home from a vacation for one night. I was told that they accepted dogs. No one told me that my little shitzu would cost $150 for one night. Imagine my dismay when I got home to find vmy 89 dollar night turn into $250. It was almost impossible to get anyone to respond and was finally told that's our policy. We also had to change rooms because the TV didn't work.
