Homewood Suites by Hilton Akron Fairlawn OH

We have stayed at this property in the past with no issues. We love the location. After reading recent reviews we almost rebooked at a different location. The hotel has underwent a makeover and it looks great. Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable. We didn't use the facilities so we can not comment on that. The breakfast was typical of complimentary something quick to hold you over. The attendant was very nice and helpful. Front Desk staff was nice, we even had to call down and have someone bring us additional towels and received them within a few minutes. I am big on writing reviews and making sure we keep it as honest as possible for the next person. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are needing a place to stay in the Akron area. Note : they have a 100 deposit that is charged at check in. We weren't aware of as most of our stays never require one.

The staff is friendly and welcoming. Wasn’t in the best spirits due to loss and the young lady Cece in the kitchen was so comforting. She made me feel better and had me laughing my tail off before I was done eating. I enjoy my visit each time and return due to her genuine love of people.

My husband and I came to stay at this wonderful Hilton Property using points. I loved the rooms. Very spacious and a nice kitchen setup. Normally you get a Hotel mini fridge, at this location I had a full size fridge. Just like Home. I also want to give a big shout out to the Night Manager Sam. He is the man. My husband has difficulty getting around sometimes and Sam really took wonderful effort and care with the situation. Thanks Sam!!

It's showing some wear, but it was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff friendly and helpful. Kudos to Jonathon in the breakfast room, he kept it clean and well supplied. Close to many restaurants, especially the Winking Lizard...

Location is probably the best thing about this hotel. As an Hilton Honors member I frequent the Homewood Suites brand as I like the separate bedroom/ living area. My wife and I booked this hotel as the location was in great proximity of all we wanted to do. I didn't check reviews and now I know I should have. First upon arriving in our room 2 things were noticeable. There was a lack of a foot ottoman or coffee table in the room. Also the faint odor of cigarettes. Furniture was also very worn with holes in some of the apolstery Second the hotel boasts coffee 24 hours a day. Most afternoons the coffee carafes in the lobby were either empty or ice cold. I often enjoy a cup after being out all day. So I stopped at the convenient store down at the end of the road. Housekeeping was non existent. According to the welcome sheet we received. Housekeeping is scheduled to clean rooms every other day. Starting on the 3rd night of your stay your room will be refreshed and on the 5th night you will receive full service. Please request service 24 hours in advance if you'd service outside of the scheduled times. Well upon returning on the afternoon of our 4th day housekeeping had not refreshed the room. I went to the front desk to inquire and was told I had to request 24 hours in advance. I asked even for the supposed refresh? I was advised yes. So I made the request for the next day. Watched her write it down on the schedule sheet for the next day. Needless to say upon returning the following evening nothing had been done. Nothing again on the 5th night either. Housekeeping never set foot in the room. This was very disappointing and definitely not the service I've come to expect and appreciate from this brand. Then there was breakfast. No variety at all. It was pretty much the same menu every day. I know this may sound petty but in all the Homewood Suites I've stayed in in the past there was some variety on the hot breakfast bar. Here I could pretty much predict what would be there. Long story short I wouldn't visit this location in the future nor would I recommend it to friends or work colleagues. Just a side note. Staff seemed more interested in side conversations, some about guests staying there, than customer service. Some of these conversations taking place in the lobby and breakfast area.
