Days Inn by Wyndham Athens

Very nice family who runs it unfortunately the place is in terrible need of renovation. If I had paid $60 a night I would have accepted all the issues and just walked away lesson learned. But for $250 a night I felt I was scammed. I don't normally leave reviews but wanted to warn the next person. Only do this if you are desperate and the price is right.

This hotel was the worst I have seen in a long time. There were holes in the blankets on the bed. Dead bugs on the air conditioning unit. Smelled like stale smoke and pets. The floors were dirty. Very dirty, smelly room. The overall appearance of the entire building was old and run down with plastic curtains broken and hanging. Not many cars in the parking lot. We didn’t stay because of these reasons and they wouldn’t give us our money back. $250!

Boy oh boy, where do we even begin…. For starters, we ended up here because all the other rooms were sold out because of hoco. When we got here, the staff wasn’t the friendliest, but they helped us with the bare basics. Next, our room had appeared to be pried open, and when we got in our room, Bugs Everywhere. We ended up killing about 30 bugs throughout the night. Next, the beds appeared to be plastic-wrapped, but they were somewhat comfy. The free “Breakfast” was a granola bar and lukewarm coffee. In summary, Don’t go.

I killed at least 50 stink bugs in the room over 2 days. I do nit recommend this hotel to anyone for any reason

Parents Weekend at OU. So you get what you pay for. And on a busy OU weekend where other hotels charging 400.00 a night, it wasn’t THAT bad. Its an OLD motel needing more than a fresh coat of paint sloppily applied to make it worthy for a hotel aficionado, but if your a half glass full kind of person you notice the beds are made nicely, clean, the towels meticulously folded, and clean bathroom, refrigerator and microwave, coffee maker, cups. Sometimes we think historically old is dirty. Its old and worn. But we did not find it dirty. In fact I have quick response allergies and react to dust and mold and I had zero issues, even with the AC. Only way these old hotels can renovate is if we patron them.
