Dream Midtown by Hyatt

We had a good 4-night stay at the Dream Midtown earlier this month. Our platinum suite was large and comfortable with 2 bathrooms. The hotel is nicely located close to Central Park, Times, Square, and Hell's Kitchen. There's a large bar and lounge on the upper floors that we only visited once, unfortunately. The hotel also has a daily happy hour and we were provided with nice pours of wine upon our arrival. The only real downside to the hotel is the noise from trash collectors and nearby construction on weekday mornings (Saturday morning was quiet and lovely). While we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to other travelers, we'd probably try to find someplace slightly quieter on our next visit to NYC, at least until the construction is finished.

We booked this hotel due to it's location however there is a new hotel under construction immediately adjacent to the hotel. The noise emanating from the construction site made our stay very unpleasant. Bathroom in the Junior Gold suite is very small.

The hotel is in the perfect location. The room we had was small, but that’s expected in NYC. The room needed a deep cleaning. The staff were nice and accommodating. The problem I had was the construction noise that went on from 7am to 9pm weekdays on two neighboring properties. On one of the properties the construction won’t be done until 2027. So although I would stay here again, I wouldn’t stay here or recommend this hotel until after construction on the two neighboring properties has been completed.

The rooms smell moldy. The pictures on the website are not reflective of what you’re going to get in the room. The lobby smells nice. That’s it. They need to renovate every single room and change the lighting to be more warm and inviting. If you can afford it, stay somewhere else.

Room was tiny, couldn't wash hands in the bathroom without closing the door because of how small it was. Everything was clean, bed was very comfortable, but it only worked for me as a solo traveler, I can't imagine having another person in that space.
