Gold Country Inn and Casino by Red Lion Hotels

PLUS: (1) The room was neat and clean. (2) The staff was friendly and courteous. (3) The meals at JR'S were good. CON: (1) The room was dated and appeared to be missing furniture; one nightstand had a lamp and the did not. (2) The barhroom light was faulty; you had to tap it with a coat hanger to get it to stay on. (3) No kleenex tissue box in the room. (4) JR'S did not accept Amex which I thought was unusual for a casino cafe.

I have stayed at this place for the better part of 30 years. It’s not the fanciest hotel in town, but it’s next door to red Lion mavericks which probably is. I like this place because the rooms are huge the people are friendly and they can provide for almost any need. The rooms are clean, the restaurant is reliable. Heck tge even have an RV Park. The decorative style is old fashioned Adirondack. The saddest thing I can say is, I am starting to feel like a spring chicken at this place.. I’m 61, that’s not a great long term projection

This was a nice place to stay. Our room was clean and comfortable. We temporarily need an accessible room and they had a nice option for us. They are also pet friendly. The outside could use a face-lift but don't let that deter you. I think it was a great value.

HARD BEDS..Had to pull back sheets to see if I was actually sleeping on a mattress or box springs. Room is spacious. Thing is the parking is filthy, put home filled and home to several broken down vehicles that have obviously been here for a long time. Outdated furniture. On site restaurant with limited offerings. Room rate is reasonable for what you get but this place really needs some work. Bathroom counters in put condition, carpets leave feet filthy. Their biggest advertising is their lighted sign out front. They don't even keep up with it's maintenance, which is a big indication of how they maintain their rooms.

Maybe it was a good Hotel in the past, now it is a Ran Down Hotel, with rats running the property, drug dealers doing business casually, and sketchy people doing drugs living at the Hotel, I think they rent weekly and monthly for low income people. The room is smelly, old nasty carpet, we found cockroaches inside a drawer. WORST experience ever, and let's not forget the security staff that isn't friendly at all, and seem to not care about the "property issues." The manager, Sarah, if I recall her name, lacks the ability to deal with customers and simply doesn't mind the customer experience. Definitely not a person I would put in charge of my business. Nonetheless, the ladies at the front desk are nice and friendly. The location is good, but it is a FAKE CASINO, with only a few video game slot machines at the lobby. There are no Poker tables, Black Jack, or any dealer card games whatsoever. The only dealers you'll find are drug dealers, I guess. I travel around the country and stay in hotels 20 nights a month at least. I know what's a bad hotel, service, and security staff when I meet one, and this "Casino" hit the Jackpot of all 3 bad. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL OR YOU'LL REGRET.
