This hotel has some strong points, but the shortcomings add up quickly. First, the positives: the front desk staff are warm and accommodating, which made check-in pleasant. The location is another highlight—right off Interstate 85 and surrounded by plenty of dining options, making it a convenient spot for travelers. However, several issues detracted from the experience. Maintenance seems to be an afterthought, with details like a ripped light shade and a broken bedside USB outlet. The closet offered only three hangers, which felt insufficient. Breakfast, a feature I usually enjoy, was underwhelming this time. The cinnamon buns, once a favorite, appear to have switched vendors. The new ones are overly iced and doughy, lacking the fluffy, satisfying texture I’ve enjoyed in the past. The biscuits were old, dry, and overcooked, though they paired decently with the sausage gravy. The elevator, unfortunately, was slow and a bit clanky, leaving me hesitant each time I rode it. Housekeeping policies were another frustration—rooms with door tags visible between 8-9 AM were skipped entirely, which seemed overly rigid and inconvenient. Additionally, the hotel’s proximity to heavy traffic means that noise from the road is a constant presence, which might bother light sleepers. While the location and friendly staff are definite pluses, the issues with maintenance, breakfast, housekeeping, and even the elevator detract from the overall experience. With some focused attention on these details, this hotel could be much better.

The front desk clerk extended my stay by two days WITHOUT my permission! I already had a reservation at another Holiday inn express in another city using my points. She had no right! Then they charged me another nights stay while I was staying at the other hotel 2 days later. How many guests have they cheated this way?

I have never had such a bad experience staying at a holiday inn before. The housekeeping staff were very nice and accommodating, but I cannot say the same for the front desk staff or at least for one of the staff members that I encountered. We had multiple issues with the hotel, and the responding front desk staff members were incredibly rude and disrespectful.

This hotel seemed comparable to other HIE hotels. We didn't note anything out of the ordinary, but we were literally there less than 12 hours. However, check in was smooth, and the room was clean. The beds were super comfy. The only issue, and this could have been avoided perhaps, with a little research, was that we heard interstate noise all night long. But all-in-all, it was a good hotel, and we would recommend if anyone needs a quick overnight stay.

The hotel is in a good location and very clean. The front office staff are exceptional very helpful and friendly an asset. The only criticism I have is regarding the daily housekeeping. Whilst they changed the towels and emptied the trash they didnt make the bed not sure why but if you offer full service then the bed should be made.
