Hilton Garden Inn Roanoke Rapids

1. I believe it starts from the leadership style: Ass. GM (Romelo) is very arrogant, disrespectful and unprofessional. I booked a room with a fridge, which was not working properly. I had politely requested the Ass GM since he was at Front desk if he could kindly store my sealed and packaged food that I purchased in the hotel one. He gave me a hard time about it, was very loud in the lobby area, and made sure other guests and all his other staff understand how he was insulting me 2. There was hardly anything for the buffet. I asked if I could order a la carte, and was told they dont do cook-to-order, as would be the HGI policy! 3. They billed me additional charges, I went to Front desk to get this resolved; I was told me to complain to the management 4. Kitchen staff do not wear any protective clothing to protect food. They had no hair net, chewing gum, had jewelry, did not wear any gloves, picked up food that fell on the table and out it back onto a plate to be served. 5. I had ordered for chicken wings, and the inside was still frozen. When I politely informed them, they gave me the attitude as if I was lying. 6. The room: There was fecal material in the toilet when I checked in; There was hair in the cups that they give you to drink. I told the Ass. GM that I am not happy, and he told me to go ahead and move to the Hampton Inn located nearby. Am definitely not staying or recommending that hotel to anyone. I made sure that people at work don't stay there.

The hotel is very clean and appears updated. Easy check in and front desk employees were very welcoming. We ate at the restaurant on our way to Florida and on our way home. We had a lovely waitress named Samantha who actully remembered my choice of cocktail on our return visit. She was so friendly and nice. The food was also very good. Beds were comforable. Quick exit off the expressway. We will be back

Pet Policy is a concern ! The pet policy says : Pets “Pets allowed, $50.00 non-refundable fee, $50(1- 4n), $75(5 +n) 2petsMax,dog/cat only - charges apply to emotional support animals.” All the rooms have rugs but if your dog pees on the curtains that smell like pee then you will pay damages. When I told the desk that my dogs are trained, but when they smell where other dogs have peed it’s hard to keep them from marking. I told her that after paying $50 for my two mini dachshunds for one night that I didn’t think I should be responsible if they have an accident on the rug. The rug has many spots in it where dogs have peed. She told me I was lucky because she was supposed to charge us $100 for the two dogs. Where does it say this? It’s a lovely place, but per policy is somewhat deceptive.

The refurbishment of the hotel is 180 out from the old third world nastiness of two years ago! The rooms are furnished nicely and everything has a modern update! Very pleased! Jasmine at the front desk was exceptionally nice and professional. Thanks for making our trip easier.

Checked in front desk was fine no problems. Received our room and black dog hair all over the floor. Came down to get a bite to eat waited over a hour for food where they were out of mostly everything on the menu. The waitress blamed they were crowded. Seriously crowded!!!! Mostly everything was missing from menu and it was 630-7. Unacceptable. Do yourself a favor get fast food before checking in. We are high honor members was we were dissatisfied with the service tonight. I guess it's back to Marriotts. Unacceptable after driving 11 hours!!!
