Large rooms with a kitchenette and comfortable living room. The AC worked great and the hotel was quiet. There is no room service but the 10th floor bar and restaurant had good options. Breakfast is limited but had the basics to start the day. Walking distance to many downtown restaurants. Overall a good choice for business or leisure travel.

We visited for a New Year Eve wedding and found this Residence Inn to be the best one of it's brand that we've stayed in. For NYE there was good, visible security inside and out (both Raleigh PD and Marriott security). We had a one bedroom suite for an average of $333 per night. No complaints - all good. Spacious, clean and, on the 7th floor, end of hallway - very quiet for a New Year's stay. Above all, the staff was fantastic. Front desk - great. Upstairs bar/restaurant - great (the young woman was on shift alone on Sunday, 12/29, with about 15 people to serve and still had a smile. Breakfast was extremely well laid-out and the staff was superb. We were pleasantly surprised and gladly tipped the hardworking breakfast staff. Located right off of the interstate - it's an easy find. Parking is convenient, but is a hefty $18/night. It's covered parking with direct entry into the hotel, allowing very easy access to the hotel and your room. Maid service is every-other-day, although we never actually had our room cleaned. The front desk and maid in the hallway were polite and quick to give us the fresh towels and extra pillows we needed. That's about it - no complaints and excellent stay. For Bonvoy members, an FYI that we are still waiting for our points to be credited to our account four days later. It's always inconvenient for a slow posting because you have to keep checking your account. Quick point posting are always appreciated.

Extremely expensive - almost $400/night with taxes and fees - more like price gouging due to a conference crowd. Room wasn't clean and they didn't clean nor replenish supplies for the four nights I was there. One of the worst experiences that I have had. I would avoid - there are better hotels in the area.

Arriving at a hotel for check-in at near midnight is never ideal, especially after a cross-country plane flight. But our arrival at the excellent Residence Inn in downtown Raleigh came with a strange twist. The front-desk receptionist directed us to get to our room by dragging our heavy suitcases outside the hotel, down a half flight of stairs then enter the parking garage to gain access to the hotel. This roundabout made no sense to us at that late hour, but we weren't about to argue so off we went. Only the next morning did we sort through what happened. The receptionist mistakenly assumed that we had a rental car and give us directions to the parking garage for that. We didn't. And there was no vehicle in the loading zone parking space, so why she assumed that was beyond us. Other receptionists during our stay were shocked when we mentioned this mistake and apologized profusely. But the damage had been done and this review would have been remiss in not mentioning this problem in hopes that it never happens to any future customers. Otherwise, we were much impressed with this fine new facility. Our king suite was spacious, the amenities generous, the bathroom larger than many other places, the king bed very comfortable with plenty of pillows. Breakfasts were good and ample with new items rotated in each morning. A huge caldron of by-scratch oatmeal, always available, was a tasty and healthy way to start a morning even in summer. A half dozen fresh add-on's to the oatmeal, from coconut flakes, brown sugar, raisins & cranberries, made it into a fine breakfast specialty (way better than instant). We found the Residence Inn's location to be a bit on the edge of downtown but certainly walkable to downtown eateries and other attractions. The Convention Center is right next door. We'd stay this Residence Inn again, but would never head out to the parking garage with our luggage when the elevators were right behind us and only 15 feet from the reception desk.

We were at this hotel for Galaxy Con. It was very convenient to the convention center. The breakfast was very good each morning. The staff was fantastic, kind friendly, helpful. The beds are comfortable. The room has a microwave and fridge in it, but no kitchenette. The room and bathroom was larger than I thought they would be. Plenty of room for us to be comfortable in. I would like to have had bedside tables on both sides of each bed. I also think the bathtub needs some anti slip things put down. I felt like I was going to fall when I took a shower. Also, we found the internet to be unreliable. The bad thing is this hotel is located very close to an arena that had concerts 2 of the nights we were there. Not the hotel’s fault. The music rattled the room. I could hear every word the performers said. The first night the concert was done by 10pm, so no big deal. The 2nd concert went very late. I was extremely annoyed. I had a headache and wanted nothing more then to go to sleep. Not the hotels fault and not much they could really do about it. Overall, we enjoyed this hotel, it was nice to have a place to go to relax during the convention, rather than having to leave for the day.
