Would give this a zero if available. We are Titanium Elite, long time members. My husband travels and stays in Marriotts weekly for work. Most of his work trips are booked last minute. I booked his room for April 8, did the online check in, and he was on his way there. I got an email that they were sold out. Now this has happened to us before, and one of the benefits of Titanium is that we get customer service where they find us a new room, close as possible, usually within Marriott chain but not always, and they cover the Marriott rate we booked at. Instead we got a generic we're sold out email over an hour later, while my husband was driving to this hotel. I called the location, the woman did not give her name nor did she include it in the email. Same attitude on the phone as in email, sold out, no help. I asked why we weren't called, she insisted our phone number was not there. I did call corporate after this call, and they confirmed our phone number is there. She argued with me about that, she talked over me, argued, and raised her voice at me the entire call, while accusing me of doing those things. Instead of helping us, she just kept saying she wouldn't be disrespected, when the disrespect was only coming from her. She did not care about our situation, nor did she want to do her job to assist us in finding alternative accommodations and honor the rate we had for our reservation. She ended up hanging up on me. I didn't call back to get a different person because she claimed to be the only employee on duty when I asked for a manager. I did call corporate for assistance with a new room and to lodge a complaint about Nameless Solo Employee of April 8, and plan to follow up with the local manager. We will avoid this property in the future.

I'm a Fairfield regular, and this property is representative of the Marriott brand in providing clean and comfortable accommodations. But OH MY, WHAT AN AWFUL SECURITY RISK I experienced on my recent stay at this N. Raleigh location. Here's the scoop: Upon check-in, I was issued a blank white keycard that had my room number hand-lettered in Sharpie on the card. It was pulled from a binder with dozens of other similarly marked keycards. I immediately asked what that was about and the receptionist casually remarked that they were having trouble with their coding machine and they were issuing master duplicates for the rooms. Huh? I said well if I was to drop my card accidentally, wouldn't anyone be able to sashay right on in to my room, identified by the room number scrawled on the keycard?! To which the clerk said "well don't lose your card!" I was flabbergasted. Why not put a truly blank card in a numbered envelope instead? I can't imagine that Marriott would condone such a foolhardy lapse in security from the local Fairfield management, and they will indeed hear about this incident. Simply unacceptable.

The front desk woman at this hotel saved our day. Wish I could remember her name. I called around 7:30 a.m. from the Hampton Inn up the street where my 82-year-old mother and I had just undergone the worst experience from non-functioning shower, puddles in the elevator, and being berated by staff. I was desperate to get her and myself out of that hotel. We were encouraged to come on over to Fairfield Inn & Suites immediately and she would get us checked in. We arrived around 8:00 a.m. The woman immediately went about finding a suitable room for us, asking if there were any special accommodations preferred by my mother. She got us checked in, said she was so sorry for what we had just been through (!! what?? not even her hotel or staff but she's offering sympathy, soothing the situation, making us feel heard - THIS is how you do it Hampton Inn!!), encouraged us to let her know if there were any issues with the room, but to please come in, get settled, have a shower, enjoy some breakfast. I've never tried to check into a hotel prior to the standard "3pm is earliest" - was afraid we were going to have to wait until the afternoon to find another hotel. But we didn't. The whole ordeal put us a little behind schedule for the day's plans, but had it not been for this front desk staff at Fairfield Inn & Suites, the day would have been much worse - without a much needed shower and fraught with worrying on where we would stay that night. THIS is exemplary customer service. AND - the room was splendid. My mother walked around the room exclaiming - look! they even have (fill in the blank). The price was maybe $15 more but the room was much bigger, updated, the bathroom was fabulous. Breakfast was great - both mornings, even though technically we only paid for one. THANK YOU to the lady working the front desk Sunday morning, March 24, 2024. You made all the difference. We'll be staying at this hotel from now on for our 2 - 3x year visits with our Raleigh family.

Checked in on 6/2 for two nights. I was in town for the Cy King Tennis Tournament. Arrived for check in and receptionist was very soft spoken and direct. There were no pleasantries just check in and go. I see reviews on how great the staff are , but my encounters were just average. The breakfast was ok . The eggs were meh. I did enjoy the mini waffles (yumm). I had no problems during my stay , hotel was quiet , rooms clean . I would stay here again for sure.

We stayed here based on reviews found on TripAdvisor. I agree the desk staff were great. The hotel is clean and the room was nice. We were staying for 6 nights but due to emergency we had to leave 2 nights early and staff was very accommodating. All that being said, we were not impressed at all with the breakfast. Whoever Seeham (breakfast person with great reviews and reason we stayed here) must have left. The buffet was lacking in variety and quality of food. We saw the breakfast lady refill coffee pot once on the first day, she never wiped the counters off and never refilled the pancakes/waffles and we got there halfway through the breakfast hours. The next days were pretty much the same except on the second day I had to find my own utensils in the cabinets and when she finally came to put some out she handled them without gloves. Actually she handled everything without gloves, not sanitary at all. We might stay here again but only for 1 or 2 nights. I wonât stay for more than that.
