Sanderling Resort

The Sanderling Resort and Spa provide an excellent getaway experience for me and my daughter! Excellent service, a beautiful setting, a lovely room with the most comfortable beds… every aspect of our visit was wonderful! Our day at the spa was amazing and the stress just melted away!

We stayed on a third floor King suite. The couch and chair were dirty and small and uncomfortable. Stains on the carpet. Plastic cups and awful in room coffee in the little plastic slide dispensers. No grab bars in the shower, which is all tile. An older person would have a difficult time with bathing. We did like the large bathroom, private oceanfront porch, and the door separating the bedroom from the living room. Great pillows. The restaurant across the street was wonderful with nice servers. Everything on the property is lovely except the room itself. But if you're charging Ritz prices off-season, you guys need to step it up big time. Starting with a Keurig coffeemaker and real cups and glasses. We live in eastern NC, and The Sanderling and the great Left Bank and Lifesaving Station restaurants used to be the destination on the north Outer Banks. We hope someday it will be again.

Our bed, pillows, and linens were ample and very comfortable. The bath and roomy shower were clean and well stocked. We had several breakfasts and one dinner at the Life Saving Station and all were perfect. Pool and fitness center were not available to us as the renovation wasn't complete. Information on the website was not up to date.

Would Not Go Back. Common areas were soiled and not maintained. Carpet in stairwell in our building was dirty and looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in days. Some type of bugs were all over the window sills, door frames and outdoor balconies. There was a small table in our room for dining that only had a single chair.

The staff stole the money and gift card from my daughters wallet she mistakenly left in the room after check out. We called to see of it was left in the room, was called back and eas told we could come get it or have it mailed back. We drive an hour and half to pick it up for things to be missing. Please be careful here!
