Comfort Suites near Birkdale Village Huntersville

Stayed here Friday, Feb 21, 2025. Was pleasantly surprised! Even though we arrived at 11:00 Friday night, the staff was friendly and just as friendly the following morning as we checked out. Breakfast was better than I expected. It says Continental Breakfast but it was actually a hot breakfast (eggs, sausage, waffles, biscuits and gravy). The room was great and also larger than typical rooms. Super clean as well. This will be our go-to when we come to Charlotte.

Let’s start with the good. Desk clerk and staff were nice and helpful. The room was ok. Spacious, clean a little odd set up but ok. Breakfast was lacking. Limited selection. The juice tasted like mold. Eggs and biscuits were bad tasting. I’m local and just needed to be out of my house for the night due to work but I probably wouldn’t recommend this to someone who likes more upscale hotels. Definitely for lower expectations.

After a long drive, this was a very welcoming place to stay! Front desk staff prompt and efficient, gave us a recommendation on La Victoria, an authentic Mexican Restaurant that was a very short walk away. Suite was lovely! Clean, great bed, lots of pillows, very well kept! Breakfast in the morning was great too, clean and nice room, lots of choices! We will stay here next time we come through on I-77!

Each year on our way to Savannah, we spend the night somewhere in the lower North Carolina or upper part of South Carolina. Each of those year, we have stayed at a Choice Hotels property (Choice Rewards member) and up until this stay, have never found a hotel property we would stay at again. Took a chance on this one and can not say enough good about it...and we will stay there again next year. Very clean, inviting and comfortable and the best we have found yet. Great staff and they actually seem to care. Location can be a bit tricky with traffic, but again...we will stay there again next August.

If I based this review solely on staff they would have a 5 star rating. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly & helpful. The lady who did breakfast was so kind, funny & personable. That being said, I was disappointed with the room itself. The room, upon entering was musty so we turned the A/C cooler, hoping that would help. Unfortunately it didn't because what we realized was there was a stain on the carpet that stunk. It smelt like urine, which we were only hoping was dog and not human. The blinds had, what looked to be, paintball paint on it. Lastly, the pool was decent but small and packed, no fault of the hotel, but my kids couldn't enjoy it because other children were rough playing with no/little supervision.
