Fairfield Inn by Marriott Greensboro Airport

As a platinum-level Marriott member, I have stayed at many Fairfield inns. This one is pretty good, though nothing special. As the lady at reception, Olvie, explained they do not have suites at this facility, as it is not a Fairfield Inn and Suites. I noticed that the hotel has a few issues. For instance, the ice machine on my floor broke down. They use old-fashioned key cards for the hotel rooms. You have to insert the key card into a slot, as opposed to the newer version in which you hover the key card over a sensor on the hotel room door. The breakfast, which is complimentary, was good. There was a selection of both hot and cold foods. There was ample fresh fruit available. The location of the hotel is close to a major highway. Olvie at the front desk was helpful and polite. Overall, this is a fairly good hotel.

I am surprised at some of the negative reviews regarding this hotel because I am a Lifetime Titanium Elite, so I've stayed in a lot of Marriott's, and this hotel exceeded our expectations in every way, from check in to check out. Front desk staff was excellent and both our room and the common areas throughout the hotel were extremely clean. Beds were comfy and the hotel was very quiet, which enabled us to get a good night's sleep before continuing our journey. Breakfast was good, with waffles, breads, cereals, fresh fruit, boiled and scrambled eggs and turkey bacon and sausage, which was a pleasant surprise. Also, loved the fruit and free snacks in the lobby. We were very happy with our stay, will definitely stay here again if/when in the area and highly recommend.

My family has been Marriott members for decades. For brief stays the Fairfield brand suits our needs well, and THIS hotel blew us away. This FAIRFIELD is a GEM! From the excellent welcome at the front desk to the helpfulness of all the staff, immaculate rooms (thanks Celest and colleagues) with complimentary snacks and the AMAZING "complimentary breakfast bar" that surpassed ANY I have ever experienced, this place rocks. I saw the breakfast attendent (Avayana sp?) actually testing the temperature of the food in the serving domes with a thermometer....INCLUDING THE BISCUITS!! Never saw that anywhere before. Fresh eggs, CRISP bacon, hot grits, waffles....no mystery items or hockey puck eggs. And the offerings were different than those of the prior day. Wonderful complimentary snack area in the lobby included fresh popcorn, chips, cookies, sodas, bottled water and even RICE KRISPIE TREATS THE SIZE OF MY HAND! Our family flew in for a memorial service so this was a difficult time for us, but this Fairfield was a comforting spot. With Ruby Tuesday and Duncan Donuts across the parking lot, what more could you want. Thank you to everyone at this Fairfield.

All the staff was friendly and helpful. I had major changes made to my flight and chose to hang out in the hotel lobby instead of at the airport. I watched many different team members go about their duties and was impressed with the pride and attention to detail they had. Breakfast options were plentiful and tasty!

Staff was very friendly on all shifts!! But, this hotel let me down. Breakfast on both days needed to be restocked at 7:30am no plates, no serving utensils to get items, low on food. The hotel also needs a deep clean. The elevator was dirty both days I was there. My room was clean but the bathroom was not up to Marriott standards.
