Sonesta Charlotte Lower South End

I booked this room as I was in town for the weekend and the hotel pictures looked good and the pictures on the site looked good. When we got to the hotel, the lobby was nice and smelled good so we assumed everything would be great with the room. Boy were we wrong. When we got off the elevator we noticed how dingy and cheap the decor and furniture looked, which was night and day from the lobby. We get to our room and immediately notice that the floor was filthy, I mean sticky and filthy. We begin looking around the room and see dirty furniture and chairs. The bed looked like someone had been sitting on it and there was dust everywhere and the smell was not good. I reserved a room with a balcony and the balcony was even dirty. We were shocked, we ended up going right back down to the front desk to demand a full refund, which was given to us with no issues, and I appreciate that part. We ended up having to find another hotel in a pinch, which was not fun after flying in. The staff at the front desk were very friendly, however I would not recommend staying there at all.

Jackie on the front desk was incredibly helpful during my stay and went above and beyond for me in what was a very stressful 24 hours after my transatlantic flight home was turned mid-journey and returned to Charlotte. Jackie was very positive and always had a smile on:)

DO NOT stay at the Sonesta unless you want a busted in car window and nothing to be done about it. All I wanted was a nice St. Patrick’s Day weekend and what happened is a tragedy. literally 4 people got their windows busted in and there were no cameras. I’m PISSED tf off!

First off, thanks for being so kind and welcoming as I checked in. I was coming through town on business and this was a perfect spot to stop between gigs. I really appreciated the security in the parking lot, I had some important equipment I left in my vehicle and their presence gave me piece of mind. The lobby was swanky and full of life. Rooms were super clean and seemed to be updated recently. 10/10 thanks for the comforting stay.

Sonesta keeps getting better. Always a favorite place to stay while traveling for business in Charlotte. It keeps getting better, my room was great and the new windows made it cozy and quiet while I could relax after a long day. Keep the updates coming Sonesta!!
