I would categorize this as a better than average Courtyard. Check-in was great. The front desk agent was warm and hospitable. He made us feel very welcome. Although it was a busy weekend in the area and the hotel was full, the hotel was quiet. Our room was large and the beds/pillows were very comfortable. Location was safe and quiet. I would definitely stay here again when visiting the greater Durham/Chapel Hill area.

Best bartender ever Derrick was very attentive and made sure each person was taken care of and he ensured each person got what they wanted. He reviewed the menu to ensure the food was amazing. He explained the menu to me and offered choices that met my preferences.

Derrick is the best bartender! Truly amazing. The best drinks and food. He was so knowledge and informative about the drinks. He ensured my food was fantastic and was incredibly friendly. He is truly a gem. Hotel is incredibly nice and clean.

Aaleeyah at the front desk was an absolute ray on sunshine! She was so courteous and respectful to multiple guests before she even got to me, and she helped resolve an issue I had and at the same time turned my morning from bad to good. I feel like more hotels would really benefit from having people like her - she really made my stay wonderful! I also found the front desk staff generally very nice and accommodating - great for a first stay in NC!

This is not a luxury hotel or in a congested area. I therefore found the $11 a day parking fee that Mariott contracted to a third party to be unreasonable. The Sheraton and Hilton hotels in the area do not charge for parking. This added $80 to my 7 night stay which reduced my opinion of the property. While listed as a fee on their website, it can be easily missed.
