The Lodge Nantahala River

We chose to stay here because it was near the river and was very reasonably priced. Everything exceeded our expectations. We knew the rooms were a little small, but everything is designed well - several long table-like shelves along the wall to spread stuff out on, and the small kitchenette was fine for making coffee and a light breakfast in the mornings. Everything felt brand new and they keep everything super clean. Nice setting, up a narrow wooded gulch well away from the road, so very quiet at night. Every room has a pair of rocking chairs and a small table outside the door on the wide covered porch running the length of the building. We enjoyed sitting out there and watching the birds and squirrels in the trees across the gulch. Spacious outside sitting areas at each end of the building have chairs and tables and fire pits. Wi-Fi a little wonky but serviceable most of the time. Nantahala Outdoor Center just five minutes away, good choices for food and drink there and rafting trips, etc, also just fun to sit there and watch the river flow by. Lodge staff were friendly and helpful.

It was absolutely perfect! The creek that flowed next to us was wonderful. Loved the quietness and the campfire! It has a mini kitchen and coffee maker. Perfect location! There are some things that I wish we knew before….The NOC has a mini grocery store that sells wine/beer. There is a dollar store close by that has water (we bought 2 cases), bread, eggs, bacon, peanut butter, bananas etc. It was perfect! If you don’t catch the cleaning lady, you don’t get extra coffee. The upscale restaurant (great food) that is 5 miles away is closed on Sunday and Monday. The fun little bar across from it is closed on Tuesday. We ate at the Rivers Edge 3 times as we didn’t know about the others. They had the best patty melt! Pizza was good too and was a great snack on the trails.

This hidden lodge was a little slice of paradise! Our room was decorated so nice, very comfortable beds, a very generously supplied kitchenette and other amenities. The outdoor seating was wonderful including fire pit snd bbq grill. The host was awesome. We definitely would like to visit again.

Avoid Cherokee, STAY HERE. The Lodge is the best lodging in the Nantahala Bryson City area. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and quiet this is the place to stay. Truly a breath of fresh air from the usual fare in this area. The rooms are outfitted with everything you need and everything you could possibly think of. We will be back when it warms up so we cam enjoy the grills and firepit. Relax on the front porch and listen to the creek run........

We were so fortunate to come up on an availability at this lodge! They rarely have a room, but we were able to snag one! We stayed a whole week! It was fabulous! We now have a place for us to stay when riding the dragon and skyway! The host welcomed us liked we were family, well he is from Alabama! 😁 The Lodge is just immaculate! It was very clean and the kitchenette fully stocked. The bed slept like a dream. I could be wrong but we think the mattress was firm. We loved it! The outdoor sitting areas were nightly gatherings for the guests. We got to know our neighbors and talked about our daily adventures around the fires. It’s was a nightly ordeal😁. They have made a lovey place to relax and enjoy your vacation. You can’t say enough things about this place. The details, decor, the extras say it for them. If your lucky enough to get a booking, you will surely enjoy the stay! We will be back for sure in the summer! Thank you for such a nice vacation!
