Highland Hills Motel and Cabins A Master Hosts Resort

CIGARETTE SMOKE infused in the carpet, walls and mattress. When we arrived we had to air out the room for hours. It didn’t help. I could barely sleep bc of the disgusting cigarette smell. The room was clean. It’s a place to lay your head. That’s it.

Small place but with lots to offer. Our room was very clean, the room was huge compared to most hotel rooms and decorated great. We just had a one night stay but had all we needed. Great stay. It was pet friendly which was an asset since we like to take our small dog with us on trips.

Back after several years break. It took a bad hotel to get me back into reviewing. The pic in Hotels.com was deceiving as the room was no where close to what it looked like. We walked in to a musty room and saw a fully opening ironing board upside down on top of the fold away bed. Pic included. We had a big bug in the bath tub and found roaches one the wall. They have a wood burning fire place but they didn’t leave any wood. The bathroom has these little round soaps the size of a 50 cent piece and no shampoo. Wish I would have known. I would have brought my own had I known. The room is old with some funny light set up in the headboard. Wasn’t comfortable touching them as it didn’t look safe. The front desk is located on the Main Street in a very trashy looking motel. We got our key. Check it out. Old style key with the big plastic holder. Wow. We had to drive back out on the road and go to the next main road and then up a ways to get to our room. They have ice but it is at the front desk. So if you want any, you need to get in your car drive down into traffic and go to the front desk. The mattress is ok. Not too bad. But, be warned. It is an old bed and is very high. If you have a hard time getting in and out of a really high bed, this place isn’t for you. So enough about this place. Don’t recommend it.

The pillow had blood dried into it,the towel when I opened up after showering had black stains. Was supposed to stay another night but decided heck no! Went to get a refund and was cheated out of $30. Over heard the front desk person apologize to the ladies ahead of us and then apologized to us. I caught his mistake on the refund and he still didn't get it right. Horrible place will NEVER go back!

The motel was much cheaper than any of the others in the area. Decor and interior needs to be updated and the rooms need a paint job. Pool was clean and well kept. The room was okay. Towels were small and stained and the shower curtain was long and hung into the shower leaving little room for your feet. Staff was friendly.
