A mixed bag at this Hampton Inn. Arrival was strange: no external lights anywhere. We passed the entrance for the hotel because the sign was not lit. The parking lot was completely dark. I saw someone walking from their car with a cell phone flashlight. We thought there was a power outage, but no, just no lights on. It did not seem to be an unsafe area, but the lack of any lights anywhere was like nothing I have ever seen at a modern hotel in a city. At check-in, I was told that my online checkin through the app ādidnāt take,ā and I was asked for my credit card. I know providing one is standard practice, though I had prepaid for the entire stay in advance. However, what was the point of checking in with the app? Apparently, it did ātakeā because the room I had selected was what we were assigned, and my name was on the TV of the room as an Honors member. The room itself was clean and spacious enough. Beds were very comfortable. It was a little chilly in the room: the fan was going from the A/C unit, but the wall thermostat did nothing to change the temperature. There were not enough towels, but a visit to the front desk was all it took to remedy that. The person who gave me the towels was polite and friendly. The towels were also of good quality. The room was quiet, and darkening shades kept the room nice and dark overnight and into the morning. My wife said she heard someone vacuuming very early in the morning (before 7), but I did not hear this. Bathroom was clean and bright, and all fixtures worked well. While we were able to find a seat at breakfast, they had trouble keeping up with replenishing food. Trash can was overflowing, and someoneās spilled coffee on the floor was there for some time before it was cleaned up. There were two waffle maker machines, a toaster, and muffins, bagels, and spreads. No fruit, though. There were remnants of sausage and eggs, but sausage was not replenished during the last half hour - 40 minutes of breakfast. Sliding doors closed at 9:50, and no more visits to food area were permitted after that. We had looked forward to using the indoor pool, but the door to the pool area was locked. (It looked nice from outside the door, at least). I confirmed that the door was locked during hours which the sign indicated it should have been open. I appreciated the comfortable bed, free breakfast and free parking, but the stay overall could have been better. I would possibly consider staying again, but I would also consider other options.

We are honors members and always stay at Hampton Inns. In the past we have stayed at the other Hampton in Yonkers but we decided to give this newer hotel a try for a 9-night stay. Check-in went well - acknowledged as members etc. So the cons: only 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 2 wash cloths, 1 roll of tp (we spent the rest of our stay requesting more even when we had housekeeping in), the breakfast area didnāt have enough seating for the amount of guests there, only 1 waffle maker was out until the last morning when a second suddenly appeared, the food was semi-passable. The garbage containers were always filled to capacity causing a mess. Then two days before we were to check out we received a call at 8 am informing us that we would need to move that day by noon to another room as our floor was to begin reconstruction. This was the first we were hearing about this. We had to postpone our plans at 11 am and missed the free breakfast downstairs as we had to rush packing our suitcases to be ready for the move. This then became a comedy of errors as the front desk kept saying the new room was not ready but our floor soon filled with construction workers and the room next to us began being torn apart. The hallways were full of carts for the demolition & huge canister of supplies. Finally after going personally to the front desk and telling them we just needed a room with a bed as we were late for our event (we had 2 double beds in our room) they mentioned that they could give us a suite a floor above with one bed which we took. We had to live ourselves. The new key had issues the entire time we were there. But wait thereās more - the new room wasnāt truly finished - the sliding door to the bathroom wasnāt properly aligned so it couldnāt be closed, there was a 3 inch screw left on the couch, a light fixture in the bathroom was 1/2 way out, the tv was on a t-shaped table/desk at an angle that it was difficult to watch from the bed or the couch and the side of this table had a door which contains the three wire racks that pull out on tracks so you can store your clothes in them but it couldnāt open all the way due to the table being so close to the wall not allowing the door to open. This table/desk is massive & heavy so we couldnāt move it. To make matters worse they only gave us $32 off for one night! We are disappointed with our stay and will never return to this property. We wrote a comment to Hilton Honors but have yet to hear back from them.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in many ways. The location is easily accessed from several parkways, parking seemed ample and safe, property was set back from the roadway and quiet. The interior seemed well maintained, clean and updated.

I stayed here at this Hampton Inn while moving my daughter into college nearby. The hotel staff made the difference! They allowed me to ship my daughters, Amazon packages containing dorm supplies - Multiple packages. They stored them until we arrived and helped me load them into my rental car- Making multiple trips back-and-forth. I had difficulty assembling one of their bookshelves And the engineering crew at the hotel lent me a hand. I have a dietary need and the breakfast staff went out of their way to give me something that worked for my diet. The reception front desk crew was also so friendly and accommodating. I will be making trips back to see my daughter here at college And I will absolutely stay here again. I live on the West Coast, so itās cross country trip for me and I look forward to coming back here. Robinson (Breakfast crew) Randy (engineer) and Samantha (reception) ⦠thank you so much for your hospitality and professionalism. !!

This was a typical Hampton Inn, which means a clean and quiet room, friendly staff, easy parking, and a mediocre complimentary breakfast buffet. Not much to do in the immediate area, but close to NYC. You won't go wrong if you are simply looking for a bed for the night.
