Hampton Inn Schenectady Downtown

From check in to check out (both online via phone), our stay was just terrific. The staff were all so pleasant and the property is really a gem. The entire property is immaculate. It was very quiet (Fifth floor room). The beds/pillows were extremely comfortable. The breakfast ranged from nicely done scrambled eggs, waffles, oatmeal etc and bakery level scones. Really nice end to a quality stay. Kudos to all.

$291 for one night, so take how you will. I travel for a living across the country and solely stay in Hilton Hotels. The amount of hotels that still use the “insert” style keys need to be updated. Especially at that price point. Nice room. Bad $.

This is my second stay at this location and it will continue to be my go-to on the rare occasion I'm in the area. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and well appointed with microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, and USB charging ports. It's conveniently located about 100 steps from Proctors Theatre and walking distance to coffee shops, book stores, cafes, and a variety of restaurants. On site parking is readily available. Breakfast is included and available from 6 am - 10 am and the food is quite decent with a lot of options . Breakfast room staff is inviting and efficient. There's a well lit pool, hot tub, and large, modern fitness room accessible with your room key. What more could anyone need?

This hotel is racist! The customer service here is absolutely disgusting! I had to walk through drug addicts to get into the building only to get to my room where the heat doesn’t go above 74. As I sat in my room sick and freezing the entire night, the “manager” had the audacity to tell me that I was “grateful” it even got that high because the standard is 70 in the winter. She also mentioned how she saw the request to fix the heat in my reservation but she didn’t think it was that important smh. How embarrassed I am for this property. To add fuel to the fire, upon checking out I sat in the lobby handling business before going to the casino (which is why I booked here) and was approached by the local police department who were there to escort me off of the premises. Yes! Escorted out by an officer simply because of my skin color. No, I didn’t not have an encounter with anyone. No, there was no argument! Simply because of my ethnic skin tone. The manager with the stained teeth and thin stringy hair is an absolute racist! I would absolutely not recommend staying here and I have definitely contacted an attorney!!

Imagine being a paying black female customer and being escorted out by the police for absolutely no reason. I was upset until found out that I had a cause to pursue legal action. I literally had to dodge the crack heads in the doorway on my way in lol. The manager with the yellow teeth and thin stringy hair chose the right person to violate because my attorney is going to have a field day with her. I would not recommend ANYONE OF COLOR staying here.
