Spent 2 nights here as a getaway before the holidays. Glad we did. Staff was outstanding. Food was excellent at Morrisseyâs. Room was luxurious as was the bathroom. Lobby is small, but the staff makes up for that. Caitlin who was on the desk at night went beyond the call of duty while I was struggling with zipping up my jacket to go outside on a cold evening. Valet staff excellent as well. Love their attention to the neighborhood dogs. Very sweet.

The place itself was very beautiful, the host who checks people in was not only rude but made my experience terrible. Got married close by and booked the $500 room, that being said my friends and family all had a great time going out, but the hotel room itself is not worth $500 a night. Cords wrapped around the phone; extension cord plugged into a hole in the wall for the coffee machine. Chipped walls all around the room. for $500 id rather go to cove haven in pa for half the price.

This was our first stay at this hotel. It was formerly an old hotel from the 1800âs which is redone with a more modern flair yet it incorporates elements from the past as well. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room was large with a king size bed, plenty of space and an impressive amount of storage. It was tastefully decorated. The bed was very comfortable with 3 pillows each. The bathroom also provided ample space with double sinks, lighted makeup mirror, soaker tub, and large walk in shower. Itâs very easy to feel at home here. My only issue was the trek to get to our room. I have a good sense of direction but with all the twists and turns, I got a little disoriented every time I left or had to get back to the room. Also there is no pool/hot tub area that I am aware of. The staff was generous enough to provide champagne for us to celebrate our anniversary.

The hotels nice enough but considering this is on the Forbes list it falls short. Our main issue was my daughters bed mattress had collapsed. We arrived late in the evening and didn't spot it. We don't normally make an issue of things, so we reported it the next day and went out for a stroll. We spoke to reception on return who informed us that there was nothing they could do but order a new one...this would be a few days. We left the next day to continue our trip. These things happen, however when we asked for English tea bags in the room for a morning tea they did so quite happily and then charged us 12 dollars 70 cents for the privilege. No real thought for my daughter who slept on a collapsed mattress for two nights. Quite disappointed with the way and manner it was brushed off. We will be making Forbes aware of this badly handled situation - house keeping should have spotted this and sorted it.

This is an amazing hotel and location, but the recent renovations are super depressing. The rooms are fine- bathrooms are excellent - but the lobby is terrible, feels like walking into a motor inn. The cafe tables by the check-in look like they are from restaurant depot and just donât work in a hotel with 700/night rooms. The pub in the lobby with a sushi bar in back just donât work at all. There is nothing left of the old charm. The beds / dressers / coffee tables in the rooms are far from luxurious. The taste level is sub-par for what the price and legacy demand. Very sad.
