Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Olean Allegany

Almost perfect hotel in this price range ( <$100), including all new rooms, very good complimentary breakfast, very friendly and accommodating staff, nice and quiet location (even though close to the main street in Olean). If they had a swimming pool, it'd be better than a 5-star hotel!

As the above "hotel" retains a license to operate as a Wyndham site anyone who is a patron of them must become aware of my recent experience. I have submitted a detailed complaint to their corporate office as well asking them to remove the license. The evening of the 19th I had been driving hours from Ohio to Rhode Island after burying my brother. We lost him suddenly and the whole week had been incredibly trying and emotional. I made a reservation through Priceline for this "hotel". When I arrived at the hotel the attendant could not process the virtual credit card provided by them. She phoned her boss but would not contact Priceline. I had to call myself after asking several times for her to reach out to them. Once they were connected, as I instructed Priceline to call the "hotel", there was no resolution as the call got disconnected. Still on the phone with her boss the attendant kept trying the virtual card and mentioned a second one was given. It could not be processed. Instead of calling Priceline and trying to resolve the issue the attendant did nothing. She said that they would refund the room which I asked them not to as I was exhausted and it was 9pm. Once again I called Priceline and had them call the "hotel". They then said they were going to refund my room and went ahead and did so. This left me FURIOUS. I felt so cast aside and there was no effort at all to try and resolve this issue. It was pure laziness. I stay at Wyndham often but will no longer after this experience. I ended up having to find another hotel and drive 30 miles to get there. If this is the type of property Wyndham licenses to then I will no longer patronize their sites. The only offer I was given was a rebook at 10% off at the hotel's price which I adamantly refused. There was no way I was staying there after this experience. This entire experience left me incredibly upset. Between the manager, the attendant and Priceline, to which I also am sending this exact complaint, I have never experienced less hospitality. I should have been offered a free room by Priceline. The "hotel" manager should have called Priceline immediately and rectified this issue. There were so many things that could have been done to handle this differently to make me feel that I mattered as a guest. They did nothing of the sort. I will be posting this review on google and any other site I can to spread the word so no one else experiences what I have.

Best stay yet. The staff is nice. You can text the front desk with your needs. The price is reasonable. They give you all the info you need for the area. The hotel is clean and not in disrepair. The breakfast is good and plentiful. I would definitely stay here again.

This place is very very clean and staff is awesome. We are out here for work and they helped us out a little bit on prices. Still cost more than we pay anywhere eles because we are usually at one place for 4 nights a week for a year or two. None the less you get what you pay for.

The hotel is exceptionally clean and is comfortable. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable; the amenities were very nice. Breakfast was simple but the prepared food was tasty. It seems to be an owner-decision regarding provisions of a decent, basic breakfast. The front desk staff were most professional and helpful, The evening desk clerk was very helpful re my reservation and greeted us upon arrival. The morning clerk, Jennifer, was exceptionally professional as she dealt with a very rude and inappropriate customer who continued to harangue the staff. We really appreciated how she tried to address him in a calm manner and maintain a peaceful setting for the breakfast room.
