TRYP by Wyndham New York City Times Square Midtown

My family of 6 stayed at the TRYP last week in NYC. The location made it easy for us to use the subway, buses, trains. It had plenty of food choices nearby. There is also a CVS just one block away for anything you need. This hotel is right next door to a police station, so we felt very safe with cops always being on the street outside. We had a family room that consists of 2 queen bed, 1 bunk bed and sofa bed. We easily fit our family of 6. The hotel had cold filtered water that you can fill up your water bottles, a microwave in the lobby you can heat up leftovers (ideal!!) and a fridge in the room. Our room also had 2 bathrooms! I left one star off because the housecleaner forgot to dispose of the food from the last visitor in the fridge. But we threw it out, no worries. The hotel engineers, house cleaning staff work very hard. I always see them out when we were headed out or into our room. The "on your own" luggage storage room had a scale so I can weigh my luggage before headed to the airport. For a room under $500 for a family of 6 in NYC, this place works well. Of course, you can pay over 1K or 2K a night for a NYC hotel room for 6 ppl for white glove service, spotless housekeeping and luxury amenities. That is simply not in our budget. I would return! Thanks to MD for checking us in and being so nice to us the entire trip.

I chose this hotel because of its location to Penn Station and it did not disappoint. It was two blocks from Penn Station and the staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. My room was quite big for a NYC hotel with two king size beds and a desk area. My room and the hotel overall was clean and was perfect for the two nights I stayed there. I would certainly recommend it and would stay there again.

I stayed at this hotel in March 2025 for business. My colleague booked this trip and has left a review (see below) detailing the issues myself and both colleagues travelling also had with this hotel. The hotel has responded to my colleagues review in relation to a perfume bottle their housekeeping team accidentally broke in my room. The hotel has said it credited $70 however this is incorrect as they have only credited $60. The perfume was brand new and is over $100 to buy. I discussed this at the hotel before check out when they promised to send me a new bottle to my home address (another lie) and I said I had no faith they would resolve the matter once I left. I have photo evidence of the broken perfume bottle and note for the housekeeping team left me. I totally appreciate accidents happen and this wasn't intentional. My issues is with the hotel/the managers handling of this. I have sent multiple emails to the hotel and have called but no response has been received in relation to this. The hotel manager has been copied into the emails but has ignored me. They were also never at the hotel during my stay there which says a lot...

AWFUL! There was a roach in my shower and the owner/manager has yet to respond to my request for a refund! Find a different place to stay. NOT a good choice!! This is a franchise and it was VERY subpar. SAVE your money and go somewhere else! TRUST ME!!
