Actually, the hotel, at least in terms of location, isn't all that bad. Anyone who doesn't care about waterproof showers, coat hooks, luggage racks, storage space, bedside lamps (only one per tiwn bed), wardrobe racks/space, etc., will feel comfortable here. The view is also very beautiful. Unfortunately, there is a somewhat strange handling of credit card information and payment processing. On the one hand, I was mistakenly charged a three-digit amount in the mid-US dollar range, which was refunded to me after a complaint, but without any apology or explanation. Further on the other hand, I was also unjustifiably charged strange daily facility fees, to which I had never agreed. This despite the fact that I had booked a package holiday including flights and hotel at no additional charge through a tour operator. After almost 12 weeks and countless correspondence with the hotel, the credit card company, and the tour operator, the matter is still unresolved. For those who enjoy such annoyances with incomprehensible fees and charges, the Wyndham Garden Chinatown NY is the right place to stay. However, if you want to spend a few carefree days in a pleasant hotel with reasonable pricing and no subsequent hassle, this is the wrong place to go.

Room amenities mediocre at best, e.g. the coffee machine had a hole in it, the sink was way too small so the water kept spilling out of it. The balcony door didn't close properly allowing rain to pour in. I highly recommend locking all your stuff in the hotel safe because sometimes things "magically" disappear. When you try to get your missing stuff back you will find that the front desk staff has zero interest in helping you find it. Cannot advise anyone to stay there.

Sean, Shana, Aung and Elliot went above and beyond to make my event a special occasion. The property is lovely and in a very convenient and lively location. The views from the 17th floor event space are some of the best I've experienced in NYC, definitely would recommend for a special occasion!

I organized a trip to NYC for 60 people that included both kids and adults. Wyndham Garden Chinatown was very accommodating to our needs and price point. It was a great location. Rooms were clean. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was great. I also heard that the onsite restaurant was delicious. Will definitely stay here again.

The thermostat doesn’t go higher than 72; I tried raising the temperature to 75 but it fell back to 72. The bathroom is rather small; there is not enough counter space which is annoying. There is no flat iron and ironing table. My room 202 was on 2nd floor facing the street so I could hear street noise. No USB outlets which was inconvenient. There are only two small elevators each could only accommodate 8 people; this is not good if you’re holding a weekend conference or event to be attended by many people as it could be a fire hazard. The chamber maid Kumarie was friendly and sweet.
