1/5 Stars â Disappointing Stay with Unresolved Maintenance Issues I had a deeply frustrating stay at The Gallivant Times Square due to multiple unresolved maintenance issues that made my room uncomfortable and disrupted my rest. The air conditioner was completely nonfunctional, blowing no air. I reported this to the front desk multiple times, but despite assurances that someone would âcheck it out,â no maintenance staff arrived. When reporting on the second day the front desk clerk stated that the maintenance person came to the room and knocked and claimed we had a do not disturb sign on the door (neither was true). Out of desperation, I had to clean the AC filter and condenser coils myself, which is unacceptable for a guest. The roomâs condition was equally poor. One blackout shade was missing, and the other was broken, leaving the room exposed to light. With the AC broken, I had to crack the window for air, which let in constant street noise all night. This, combined with sleeping on top of the blankets to minimize sweating and the constant street noise , made sleep nearly impossible. The mattress was in terrible shape, with blown springs, divots, and lumps, forcing me to sleep with my head at the foot of the bed to find any comfort. Additionally, one of the three elevators was out of service, causing lengthy wait times that added to the inconvenience. I expected basic functionality and prompt service from a Times Square hotel, but my concerns were met with dismissive responses. Also the only functional ice machine in the building is on the 4th floor and only serves a small amount of crushed ice and was frequently empty. The filtered water button on the ice machine is also broken. Speaking with many other guests we werenât the only ones experiencing these issues. These issues align with other reviews mentioning maintenance and staff responsiveness problems. I strongly urge management to address these recurring issues to improve guest experiences

Our stay was terrible and full of lies. We arrived the evening of April 23rd and notified the front desk that our room A/C did not appear to be working. They said they would send someone up. They did NOT send someone up, and provided the excuse the next morning that they sent someone but our DND sign was out and they still knocked but no one answered. They, in fact, had the wrong room. In talking with other guests of the hotel, many of them also did not have a working A/C. The elevators were either broke or extremely slow. If we wanted to change rooms, we needed to pack up all of our luggage, leave it at the front desk and come back later to see if they were able to relocate us to a room with a functioning A/C and they would put our luggage in there. We did not feel comfortable doing so, without a guarantee we would get a room with functioning A/C. Instead, we had to sleep without A/C the entire time and the proceed to get charged the full price with insane additional fees. And now...no one will answer our calls and keep forwarding us to voicemails or bogus contacts.

My husband and I had a wonderful time visiting NYC. We stayed right in the heart of Times Square next to all attractions and good food. The location of the Hotel is perfect. The staff is very courteous, very attentive and very friendly. I recommend this hotel to all my friends and family.

I recently stayed at The Gallivant and had a lovely experience overall, but what truly stood out was the incredible hospitality from Rob. We experienced a bit of a hiccup during check-in, but Rob handled it with such professionalism, kindness, and efficiency that any frustration melted away. He went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed and taken care ofâsomething that really set the tone for the rest of our stay. Thanks to Rob, what could have been a rocky start turned into a truly memorable visit. The hotel itself is beautiful, but it's the people like Rob who make it exceptional. Highly recommend, and Iâll definitely be back!

Ideal hotel, basic but location really makes up for this. We had a front facing room and have to say was lovely and warm with comfortable bed. Small bathroom but shower was nice. Lifts are slow but didnât cause us any issues , cleaning staff were very friendly and always left fresh towels and made the bed. Perfect for a long weekend!
