Candlewood Suites Elmira Horseheads an IHG Hotel

We spent 1 night here to visit Watkins Glenn State Park-it was about 20 minute drive from the park. Front desk staff very polite, knowledgeable and helpful as far as things to do and where things are distance wise. Room was comfortable and clean the kitchenette was very convenient- although the pillows were not comfortable. This hotel is more of a residence type of hotel for long term stays - most IHG properties we stay at have a restaurant on site. This one does not but there is an outback steakhouse right across the street walking distance. Also there are plenty of places to eat on Franklin Street in town of Watkins Glen. All rooms have either kitchen or kitchenette to make meals. There is also no pool at this hotel. There is an outdoor patio area for BBQ and relaxing. They offer free coffee and tea all day long in the lobby snack store. I have nothing negative to say other than the pillows. I would stay here again.

We’ve stayed here before and were excited that there were openings! The checkin staff member was extremely friendly and helpful! Derek went above and beyond for us making our stay even better! The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. We loved having a recliner in each room and the kitchenettes were so convenient for our leftovers, reheating, and being able to cook breakfast. The lobby is inviting and comfortable. There is a fantastic outside area with multiple seating arrangements for different groups to gather without feeling awkward. The location is awesome. There’s an Outback Steakhouse just on the other side of the parking lot. The mall is less than a half mile. Some stores have closed in it but there’s a Regal Cinema and Mooneys is a great restaurant. We walked there easily. We went to golf courses that were around 10 minutes away that were beautiful. We definitely plan to come back!

Our room was a first floor room with a kitchenette. Room was outdated and worn, and had an odor to it. Bed was comfortable. Staff was helpful and friendly. Was advised when we checked in that it is an extended stay hotel, which explains why it seemed as though some guests were actually living there.

Every element of our stay was perfect here. Front desk staff and the manager were outstanding. The room was quiet and pristine clean; the location was ideal for visiting Corning and the Finger Lakes region. We loved free use of the laundry machines and the serene outdoor patio. I love having a kitchen in the room and this met our needs perfectly with basic supplies like soap, paper towels, plates, pots, pans cutlery all ready to use. We loved our stay and highly recommend,

Room was good sized for a couple. Kitchen efficiency was handy - full size fridge. We ordered out (Outback Steakhouse next door - 10% discount w key card) but it was nice to have plates/silverware, etc. One bed was super comfortable, the other not so much - felt like there was a hole in one of the sleeping sides. Convenient USBs on the nightstand. Hotel was clean. Everyone friendly. We had a dog with us and our room was right next to the side door, so that was very convenient. There was a nice lawn outside for him to play on. Bathroom was well stocked and good pressure/temp in the shower. Walls did seem to be thin, esp at night - we could hear kids running above us, could hear others in the hallway, toilets flush, etc., but the hotel was pretty quiet overall, so it wasn't really an issue.
