Staybridge Suites Albany Wolf Rd Colonie Center an IHG Hotel

A very nice hotel with all the amenities we like including pool and hot tub. We stay there for the Scottish Games most years and have reservations to go back in 2025. If they could do one thing different it be to please start breakfast at 6 AM on the weekends like the do during the weekdays. It is very difficult as an athlete to wait for a 7 AM breakfast and get to the field for start time. I suppose we could skip the breakfast, but the kids would sure be disappointed. This a very clean and recently updated facility and good value for the price. And we love the gas fire pit!

I spend a rediculous amount of time in hotels for work. This place was well beyond my expectations. If feels more like a resort than just a place to sleep. Customer service was remarkable. Shuttle service was top notch. Very clean. Lots to do, and the mall, cheesecake factory and trader Joe's are within walking distance. They will even shuttle you if you want. Only 2 miles from airport!

I checked into Staybridge Suites Albany after a horrific six hour commute this afternoon, I was sitting in my truck doing my final meeting of the day via telephone as I noticed a desk employee, Michael bending down behind my truck. I got out and realized a guest was on the ground, so I and another guest began to assist. I have to share that the fallen guest was under the influence and not at his best. Michael however was amazing. He was professional, poised, cool under pressure but most importantly he was KIND, he was RESPECTFUL, he allowed this gentleman to maintain his dignity and he was so gracious. Michael is the reason I will be returning here. The room is beyond comfortable, the parking is great, the evening reception is stellar. But to be fair there are other hotels who offer comparable amenities. What they don't have are staff that are trained like Michael. Staybridge Suites needs to ensure that all their staff are up to the same standard as Michael, and they very well may be, I hope they are!

I am a Platinum Elite member and have been for 8 years. I use IHG hotels exclusively because of the great service I receive- but today they dropped the ball big-time! I booked a night at the Staybridge Suites in Albany and found I would not be able to arrive before midnight, so I wanted to cancel that booking and book an extra night at another IHG property in the city I would be in which is an hour from Albany. There is a 48-hour cancellation and I was cancelling within that time period. Should be simple to do, right? Wrong! For whatever reason when I went to cancel online 49 hours before my reservation, the system stated I would be charged for a night and lose my rewards points. So I called IHG- and after being on with a four reservation agents for almost two hours! (yes, you read that right) All claimed to be speaking with the hotel's front-desk and then the manager. After 90 minutes, I was told they needed to switch me to One Rewards because I booked with points which is something they knew from the very beginning of the call. The reservation agent(s) blamed he delay on the hotel- but they should have switched me to One Rewards at the onset of the call. Finally, the One Rewards agent was able to call the hotel and get the reservation cancelled so I could rebook, but that took an additional 30 minutes bringing my call time to two hours. Ridiculous! Each agent told me how much they appreciated my patronage & loyalty and thanked me for being a Platinum Elite member- but I did not feel appreciated. I am dumbfounded that something so simple as canceling a reservation and rebooking took 2-hours of my time- which is very valuable. I have never had this happen with IHG but I must say it really left a foul taste in my mouth. Telling me I am valued and you appreciate me is just words. Actions are what matters! Two hours to cancel one reservation and book at another property is insane!

Since we like to cook rather than going to restaurants we were looking for a room with a full kitchen. And we found that at the Staybridge. Even a dishwasher machine was included. Room was really clean and had everything one would need to make a decent meal. Beds were really comfortable and the size of the room was great. Lobby was really nicely decorated for Christmas and the hotel is greatly situated right next to a mall. Finally the included breakfast offered great choices. This is all very nice but all this wrapped by a crew of nice and helpful employees that really seems to care, not only at the front desk but everywhere at the hotel made this stay special to us. We will definitely be coming back.
