Motel 6 Truth Or Consequences NM

I always stay at this Motel 6 with my cats when I'm passing through town, with mixed impressions depending on the staff and room. This particular time, the lady at the front desk wasn't very people oriented. I had booked online and had to go back and ask for my receipt; it was not offered. She did her job adequately but didn't seem enthused about it. I felt like I was bothering her. The room was comfortable and spacious with a huge bed that was comfortable. It was also fairly quiet, and I felt safe. They were able to accommodate my request for the first floor. There was plenty of hot water for an evening bath. I got a good night's sleep. On the down side, I'm not sure how well the room was cleaned. I found a small clump of hair glued to the floor near the entrance. The bathtub also had hairs in it that weren't mine, and it looked gross. I couldn't tell if the discoloration was from dirt or lime deposits because it was old. The ceiling over the tub looked like it was caving in. Paint was peeling in that area over the tub, and there were mold spots. I would hate to be the person taking a shower when that part of the ceiling caves in! Also, not relating to comfort, but just aesthetics....whoever painted rolled paint along the sides of the door frames making it look unfinished. Not a big deal but just something i noticed. The toilet was not bolted down completely and banged against the wall whenever I sat on it and rose from it. The clerk the next day was a young man who was extremely friendly and people-oriented, and I appreciated that. Customer service is important to me and that includes the courtesy and attitude of the staff. I will continue to stay at this Motel 6 during my travels due to price and convenience. I always feel safe there, even though some of the rooms have shoddy bathrooms. I like the fact that the rooms at this one have inside access and on the first floor there is a cart to haul your things back and forth to the car. Overall, I think it's worth the money.

When we checked into this hotel we told them we had 2 small dogs and that was fine. We were staying for about a week and paid in full. After we had been there 4 days the manager called me to tell me someone needs to stay in the room at all times. I asked, why because we didn't have any problems prior to this. They said, unless in a kennel you have to be there. I said, they were in kennels in the room. Then they said, they are barking so loud and it was bothering people across the hall. I let my meeting and went back to them room and from the time I got in the hallway until opening the door, MY DOGS never barked once. Other dogs that I was told belonged to the owner were scratching at the inside of their door and barking. I went to the manager and told them I was leaving effective then and packed the car. I called the other people and told them to meet me because after my meeting we were leaving early. I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE!!! People are rude and don't even follow the rules on the site about pets. This town is nice but this place isn't.

Marijuana smell everywhere. The employees smoke marijuana while on duty. It's a crazy situation .Nobody rents there. All should be fired. They say marijuana is legal,but not when you're working. Stoned employees all the time. You can see it in their eyes

This has to be one of the worst Motel 6s I've ever been to. Super noisy...... access to your room is via an indoor hallway, and the doors to the rooms are raised an inch above the ground so Every TV (including the one in the check-in area) and conversation in the rooms down the hallway reverberates thru the hallway and into your room. This has got to be a privately owned Motel 6 and not one that corporate takes care of cuz it was just old and dated. Oh, and the guy who checked me in.... it was his first day on the job and it looked like he'd been in a good fistfight recently. A halo around one eye and ALL of his knuckles were scabbed from throwing punches. I guess it was good that he had a job tho'....

Hotel Hell. The room consisted of a cheap old table with two wooden chairs, not clean enough, hard lumpy bed. Loud and noisy all night. It sounded like construction above us. It did not feel safe at all. Homeless people and prostitutes around the property. No lobby. Outside doors are not locked. Bathtub looked filthy. All this and only $85 a night. Also, if you are allergic to dogs or cats, or just don’t care to share a bed with one, don’t go here.
