Beautifully located for a trip to Taos, this property is set in stunning grounds with a thoughtfully designed layout. We stayed in the Kama Sutra Suite, which was spacious and artfully decorated with erotic carvings and artwork throughout—playful yet tasteful. The suite featured a very comfortable and quiet bed, seating areas, and charming little nooks and crannies to relax in. There are three private courtyards and gardens with lovely distant views of the surrounding landscape. We made full use of the suite’s facilities and the courtyards and outdoor furnishings, which are cleverly designed to offer privacy—something that fits well with the theme! The pool and hot tub area was a great spot to unwind, especially if you wanted a change of scene from the suite. There were always other guests to chat with, but it never felt busy or crowded. The bar and restaurant were both good. We ordered at the bar intending to eat in the restaurant, but when we moved over, the bartender made us pay in advance including food so he could keep the sale. This led to some minor friction with the restaurant manager, and the bartender ended up running back and forth to serve us—something we found funny, though management might want to encourage a bit more teamwork between departments. We did venture out to explore Taos, the pueblo, and other local attractions, though the suite itself was so wonderful, we could easily have spent the whole trip there. Overall, a fabulous experience with friendly, attentive service from valet to housekeeping. A memorable and indulgent stay—definitely worth it.

Beautiful, relaxing resort, and the staff was always very friendly and helpful! They play peaceful spa music, the food is delicious, and indoor pool and hot tub are so relaxing! I loved the indoor greenery as well, with trees from other countries, in the breakfast restaurant on site!

Monte Sagrado is one of the most beautiful El Monte Sagrado resorts is one of the most beautiful I've stayed in and I am a frequent visitor. Unfortunately my first night there after a large snow storm, the walkway to my Casita was ice packed and snowy and I slipped and injured myself. In the morning I let the front desk know and they sent out the engineering team to clear the walk and also address a light/bulb issue I was having over the sink. I have to say the engineer that responded -Art, was extremely professional and kind. He asked about my injury and immediately brought a new light since it appeared to be a wiring issue. The walk was shoveled and salted and housekeeping was alerted. Riyah at the front desk was very sympathetic and kind. I want to also recognize Everett and Marcos at valet for extraordinary service. Although the fall was painful and inconvenient, I was able to spend the rest of the weekend relaxing at the beautiful swimming and spa area.

Regarding the Anaconda Bar :: Oscar was the bartender. Fantastic attention to detail. Oscar is a solid contribution to the El Monte team. His knowledge and confident manner came across as professional and relaxed; just the vibe you want in a high end resort. I hope management knows what they have.

We loved our stay for a couples weekend. It was one of the most relaxing weekends we’ve had in a long time. We especially loved the Anaconda Bar. Paul was a great bartender and the combination of quality and creativity of the drink menu was refreshing. The spa exceeded expectations, and every staff member we interacted with was helpful and pleasant.
