Colts Neck Inn Hotel

My room was huge, spotless, and rather updated! Wood grain tile floors made me feel good about the cleanliness, the bathroom, although not massive, was very clean with heavy duty, thick shower curtains and (although dated in look) spotlessly clean bathtub! Also, the complimentary bottled water, coffees, tea, etc were lovely, as were the two sweet fresh roses on my nightstand when I arrived :) Although I did not use them, seeing the free bikes available to use to explore the area, and the firepit supplies for their courtyard area was a nice touch! I was incredibly surprised with the high quality of the hotel for being listed as a ‘2 Star’ accommodation. I had to book a room last minute for work, and The Colts Neck Inn Hotel was equidistant to my various work locations, and very reasonably priced! After I arrived I realized I forgot toothpaste, and Remy at the front was happy to provide me toothpaste and asked if he could offer any other amenities I may have forgotten. I had an incredibly early work project my first morning and missed breakfast, and the owner/manager was so kind as to give me some fresh cookies and when I returned in the afternoon. In my checkout morning, Andrea at the front was lovely and helpful as well and if I returned to the area for non-work needs, I am going to take her up on some of the suggestions she had for food, drink, and outdoor activities. Definitely take a chance and support this locally owned Inn.

The venue has an old world charm. The front desk staff are phenomenal. The cleaning crew are also professional and courteous. There’s a gym and laundry room on site. In addition, they serve a daily breakfast something that other locations have discontinued. They also have a 24/7 coffee / tea station. The location is centrally located with the Freehold Raceway Mall and downtown eateries minutes away. I have stayed here in the past during the Pandemic and it was a relief to be in such a well-maintained property. Their grounds are groomed, and currently they are putting up their holiday decorations. I highly recommend the venue for a business or family stay . Thank you.

This was my third time staying at this charming, inexpensive, clean and well-appointed hotel. They offer free bike rentals, wine for Friday happy hour and a wonderful free breakfast to name a few. This is my new go to hotel when heading to the shore. Just a quick 25 minutes to Spring Lake and I don't have to pay shore prices!

Heres a quick rundown... Pros: Inexpensive compared to surrounding hotels, clean as far as it can be (its an old, in need of major renovations kind of place) but could be great if they invested in that, convenient location to Asbury Park, staff was nice. Cons: very old, desperately needs to be renovated, bed was super uncomfortable, very firm, plastic covers on mattress so was noisy, linens old, pilled & need to be replaced, blinds broken with taped up covering on window, old fashioned. Wouldn't go back.

Quaint inn conveniently located. Only 25 minutes to spring lake beach. Small shopping center across the street with some restaurants. The advertised colts neck inn steakhouse is closed for renovations until September. Decorated with warm, country feel. Hotel could benefit from some updates. Our shower door did not close all the way. Average continental breakfast, but there are cookies, fruit, coffee 24/7. Some board games available to borrow. Family room is very spacious, 2 full beds but the highlight for my kids was the trundle bed. They absolutely loved sleeping and playing in it. There’s also chalk paint with chalk which added extra entertainment. Overall fair value.
