Courtyard by Marriott Basking Ridge

Terrible Experience at the Courtyard basking Ridge Stayed here on Business for couple of nights. The Hotel had mentioned in their website that they have Valet Laundry. I checked in at around 7:00 PM in the evening and the girl at the front desk upon asking told me that I can leave my laundry and it will come back by the next day afternoon. Well, it did not come the next day afternoon or in the evening or even the morning of the day after! I had to check out the 2nd day and had to catch an international flight. Upon asking at the front desk, the manager with a Straight face said that yes the Hotel will mail the clothes but I will have to pay!! A straight poker faced con act. Shocked to see that people have no sense of guilt and with a straight face can say that they will charge me for delay on their part. It spoilt completely what otherwise was a good trip and the nice location of the Hotel. Courtyard Basking ridge will do well by putting guests first. There was not even an apology offered! - Yuk

Our first room smelled of cigarette smoke. Our second room was clean, but had a very poor mattress (perhaps a bad mattress topper or pad). Breakfast was included, but unlike other Courtyards, the restaurant space was relatively unattractive with limited seating options for two…there are way better nearby options…even the close by Dunkin Donuts would be an upgrade. Even though breakfast was included in our room rate, both my wife and I were told by counter people that coffee/tea was not included and had to be charged. The property manager stated morning coffee is not included unless you have full breakfast included in your room rate. We did. Confusing, but she told me that was established by “corporate.” Great way to start a day…listening to some robot tell me about corporate. This place needs a refresh in a number of ways. Suggest you look elsewhere. We will.

A great hotel with great service. Special shout out to Brandon for excellent check in process. It was his 1st week at the job. Breakfast is good and they have in house Starbucks ! Definitely a hotel a would recommend to stay but only if you are around basking ridge

The hotel was fine - clean and in a great location for our needs. The service disappointed when I checked out and ran my credit card for a room that had been reserved under a different family member's name. Even though the card was swiped and the front desk person - Caesar - indicated everything went through smoothly...it did not. The room was charged to the other family member. When I called and spoke with Samantha, she was rude and unhelpful. Courtyards by Marriott are usually my preferred hotels, but no longer.

Very attentive staff from front desk, dining room, gym to the house keeping staff. Special shout out to Shiv from house keeping. Amazing bunch of people with a smile & ready to help. Very clean and well kept place with good choice of food and drinks.
