Hampton Inn Dover

Stayed here due to a meeting closely. Stayed two nights. Arrived at seven from London and then a taxi from Boston so wanted to go straight to bed after a shower. Online checkin on the app and digital key is great. No formalities. As an Accor platinum member had a choice of two drinks and a snack and I chose water and a bag of nuts ready at reception to be carried to the room. The bathroom was spacious and the room was very big and comfy. Forgot the us rooms as have been staying in toner parts of the world for so long. Breakfast is included for all and is a self service small but decent selection. Nothing fancy but does the job. Rooms are cleaned daily. Basically a no brainer and if you are used to the Hampton this is a reasonably good choice if in the area.

pros: • window opens. this is great for fresh air! • candy at the front desk on Halloween. this was a fun holiday treat! • fruit salad at breakfast. cons: • no cookies at the front desk, when we left for dinner, when we returned, or any time we walked past. • cold bathroom. no heat in bathroom itself. floor was very cold. • every light in the room was bright and harsh. there was no option for gentle lighting. overall: Overall, this is a good Hampton Inn. Pack slippers and a cardigan in case the room is cold.

We were pleasantly surprised with the Hampton Inn in Dover. Even though there was a huge tour bus and full parking lot, the hotel was pretty quiet. Our room was very clean and well-appointed. Location was convenient. My hubby's only complaint is the $100 incidental fee temporarily tacked onto the bill.

Place was easy to find and fast and efficient check in, Once inside our room however, the sink had sand in it? At first I thought if was the design so I turned on the water but it was not. There is no hand soap at the sink, so I asked for soap from a staff member in the hall. I later notice that the desk had not been wiped down as there were stains on it. The worse thing was a sound of something very loud running and this was all night. I took pictures of the sink and the desk, but the loud noise was the worse. It was a very busy weekend, so the soap and the stain I let go by but the noise was not acceptable.

We spent one night at both the beginning and end of a trip to far down east Maine & New Brunswick. Hotel is clean, quiet & comfortable. HVAC system worked well, plus the windows open for fresh air. Breakfast was great and plenty of room in both the food and seating areas. The room we chose for the first night wasn't available because they are in the process of renovating - so it will be an even better hotel in the not too distant future. We had a couple of minor issues upon arrival the second night which the front desk staff quickly attended to and resolved. Highly recommend and plan to stay there again should we be in the area.
